Bottle shared at Daniels place. 20/02/2016. Huge thanks to Daniel for this one. Clear reddy ruby brown coloured pour with a small off white head. Aroma is nice rich short bread, butterscotch, cakey malts, Toffee apple. Nutty. Flavour is composed of tart tangy fruit cake, toffee apple. Palate is frothy and sweet and airy carbonation . Good stuff. Little woody tannin. Aged very well.

Pours a dark amber red with a finger and a half of tan head. Complex nose. Smells very sweet, caramel, toffee, barrel presence, raisins, cranberries and a hint of smoke. Mouthfeel is medium to thick. Taste, like the aroma, is quite complex. At first it quite sweet, slight caramel and biscuit taste from the malts. A hint of hops, but the taste it primarily dominated by the raisins and whiskey cask. This is defiantly a scotch barrel, because the finish has a subtle peat smokiness to it. A slow alcohol burn on this makes the beer a sipper. Really nice beer, so complex and fun to pick apart. Love trying ridiculous beers like this. Tope marks to Brewdog.

(Bottle. 11.9%) Dark ruby colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with oak wood, raisins, caramel, treacle, black rye bread, liquorice, some chocolate and hints of rum or whisky. Malty, fruity taste with notes of caramel, oak wood, raisins, dates, treacle, soy sauce, black rye bread, some chocolate and a vinous, quite bitter, finish with warming hints of rum and whisky. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Possibly not in perfect balance, but really tasty with generous amounts of rum and oak wood. Very nice.

From the very old notes, hence this is not a real rating, but more just a mark to myself that I have tried this at one point. Sweet and bitter beer with whisky character and a lot of raisins. Great brew.

@ Basunen 15-6-27: lite torr doft. Smaken är stor av torkat russin och plommon. Mycket fin balans. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ---- Soberness not garanteed!

gyllenbock (9156) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUN 20, 2015
Bottle from Systembolaget, bought in December 2012. Dark brown with a small head. Aroma and taste of dried fruit, malt, port wine, caramel and some rum. The mouthfeel was thick and the carbonation was soft. Warming alcohol in the finish. Still a tasty one.

GlasgowTAD (1778) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - JUN 18, 2015
