COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fury of dots and dashes come trough the receiver. The translator turns in amazement. "A Zero IBU IPA by two breweries separated by sea?" His commanding officer lays a grizzled hand on his shoulder as his eyes narrow toward the horizon. "No bastard ever won a war by playing it safe, son."
The International Arms Race is a new type of battle collaboration between hardcore American craft brewery Flying Dog and BrewDog.
’Zero IBU IPA’ is an ale brewed with berries and herbs.
2 IPAs that rock.
Hunt them both down and see which beer you think deserves to win the battle and the war.

larsniclas (7040) - Billdal, SWEDEN - JAN 5, 2013
Bottled from Systembolaget Hazy dark amber with a very brief head. Sweet and spicy aroma; heather, pine and some broth. Rather light body. Flowery and spicy flavour; ginger, juniper-berries, heather and some elder-berries.. Surprisingly refreshing

EdKing (2576) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 4, 2013
Bottle from Kris Wines. Colour is bright chestnut/copper brown, white head. Lots of bubbles and carbonation in the glass, although less so on the taste. Nose is spicy. It’s like sarsaparilla or Vimto. Fruity and spicy. There’s cinnamon, ginger, juniper, clove, Coca-cola caramel. This is how I would expect an ale to taste before they used hops. It works pretty well.

3.2
maekchu (3856) - Hirakata, JAPAN - JAN 1, 2013
Bottle. Gift from Neko-chan. Herbal medicine, cherry cola, rosemary nose (and some herbs I can’t identify). Slightly hazy dull copper, little head. A sharp hit of herbs in initial; moves to a concentrated herbal flavors, which spread out into several things (again, hard to separate them); thins out and leaves long traces of herbs. Thin-medium body. Fun stuff... I suppose. Not as offensive as it might have been.

bernatbeer (420) - barcelona, SPAIN - DEC 31, 2012
En botella.Color cobre con espuma que desaparece rapidamente,Aromas un poco mas herbaceos y florales que la de flying.Menos especiada. Curiosa y mas bebible

Bamsen78 (5336) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2012
Bottle. Pours clear amber with negligible white head. Distinct aroma of raw ginger and possibly fir tree needles. Ditto taste, enhanced by a fruity note in the long nose. Quite interesting, as the beer contains no hops. Dryish aftertaste. Not bad but nothing particularly impressive.

3.6
MiP (15650) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - DEC 30, 2012
Bottle, 7.5%. Spicy and herbal aroma, gingery and blackcurranty. Clear dark amber colour. Small frothy tan head. The flavour is like the aroma, spicy and herbal. Caramelly malt base. Has some ginger, but without much bite. Also juniper, I guess. Like a lot of the new types of christmas beer, but not bad.

2.7
TheJvd (1283) - NETHERLANDS - DEC 29, 2012
Pours orange with a white head that disappears fast. Herbal aroma of ginger and laurel. Sweet herbal taste and no real bitterness. Not very nice but much better than the Flying Dog.

2.9
Kristall-König (2820) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - DEC 29, 2012
Geruch süßlich, kräuterig, Rosmarin. Während des gesamten Verlaufs dominant nach Rosmarin. Kräuterig auslaufend, weniger bitter. Gewöhnungsbedürftig.
