A fury of dots and dashes come trough the receiver. The translator turns in amazement. "A Zero IBU IPA by two breweries separated by sea?" His commanding officer lays a grizzled hand on his shoulder as his eyes narrow toward the horizon. "No bastard ever won a war by playing it safe, son."
The International Arms Race is a new type of battle collaboration between hardcore American craft brewery Flying Dog and BrewDog.
’Zero IBU IPA’ is an ale brewed with berries and herbs.
2 IPAs that rock.
Hunt them both down and see which beer you think deserves to win the battle and the war.

Dark amber/copper, small white head. Low carbonation. Floral aroma, nose of spices (anise). Bitter taste with sweet notes. Weird beer, but interesting experiment.

Collaboration bryg mellem brewdog og Flying dog. 7,5 %. IPA UDEN Humle. denne øl er der ikke brugt humle. der er brugt krydderier til at give smag og bitterhed. lækker øl med fin duft af forskellige krydderier

kraddel (8584) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - NOV 10, 2013
Bottle side by side Pours a bit darker than flying dog no real foam I like this label better Smell is sweeter , and fuller than FD Taste is bit sweeter ( sugar ) and slightly less weird than FD . So this is less ’ special ’ but in a way better . Not in the aftertaste , wich is to perfumed , but i think brewdog won , even though its close , they mostly won cause of the better atrwork , i guess ;-)

ROGUE (2215) - Lewes, Delaware, USA - OCT 6, 2013
33cl bottle. Pours a amber clear color with a small off white head. Fruity aroma with a sweet background. Smooth and slightly sweet flavor with a decent dark fruit and herb backbone. Medium body and medium carbonation.

worldbeertaste (1806) - West Midlands, ENGLAND - SEP 19, 2013
Deep copper with a disappearing beige head. Smells of sweet Unfermented malt, lots of spices like ginger and cinnamon, with some perfume and caramel. Medium oily body with soft carbonation. Sweet with a spicy finish. Body of caramel with pepper and herbs. Lots of ginger in the taste with nice spices and a dry finish with a lingering liquorish. A decent work that hides the 7.5% well.

Gr0ve (2176) - Oslo, NORWAY - AUG 29, 2013
330 ml bottle. Deep copper. Clear. Fizzy tall head that falls down quickly, like soda leaving only a little around the edges. Spicy herbal aroma. No hops in sight, but the beer is well balanced, though leaning towards the sweet. Rich malty flavours that are cut with a nice flavourful perfumey herbal note. Interesting experiment, but not really an IPA.

RavnS (25) - Bodø, NORWAY - AUG 17, 2013
0,33L bottle from Vinmonopolet. Dark golden/bronze colour, with almost no head. Aroma: Gingerbreaddough, spicy and malt. Taste: ginger (ale), spicy, caramel malt. If I had tasted this blind, I would have guessed it was a ginger ale. Too much ginger in this, and kinda....dull.

Desverger (12240) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - AUG 17, 2013
Bottle from BarleyWine, Copenhagen - Gold pour small white head. Very herbal nuances in both taste and aroma, some dark fruit and woddyness. Certainly different to the norm, but didn’t get on well with this.

johndoughty (5504) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - AUG 12, 2013
Bottle. Bronze with a small head and quite lively on opening. Ginger and spices dominate leaving a lasting aftertaste. Weird and not one of their best.

Majek (887) - Ząbki, POLAND - AUG 5, 2013
Amber color, small head. Aroma is thin with some malty, sweety with some sour notes. Taste is smoother than “0 IBU IPA” from Flying Dog. Herbal notes are low that makes this beer definitely more drinkable than Flying Dog. This one is better balanced. IMO Brew Dog is the winner of International Arms Race.
