One year past the best before, but spices don’t really fade and it’s a 7.5% beer so I’m assuming this is just a token.
Beer is in fine shape with a caramel-amber colored body, bright and with a small eggshell head that slowly recedes to a ring.
Mint, spearmint, creme de menthe, rosemary, thyme and finally some light caramel in the nose. Awesome! Are people rating this as something other than a gruit??? Or did the year past Best Before date just let the spices mellow out a bit? Probably that. Anyways, I was bracing myself for the flavor and was very pleasantly surprised. Rosemary, thyme and light mint, with a soft, supple body bolstered by moderately sweet malt. Sweetens some with warming, but the spices help keep it in check. Not horribly complex but I love herbs, and this isn’t overdone at this point. Maybe they should have suggested holding on to it for a few years before drinking. Alcohol very well-concealed. Right up there with some of the better gruits and really the only thing I don’t like is the unnecessary 7.5% abv. If this were about 5% and a little less spiced, it would be phenomenal.
330 ml bottle, from Vinmonopolet. BB date 23.05.2013. ABV is 7.5%. Amber colour, huge white head. Strong aroma of wild berries and herbs, hints of spices. Fresh and fruity flavour, again notes of wild berries and herbs, including bog myrtle / sweet gale. Unusual, but interesting. scanovajr (753) - Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL - JAN 10, 2015
A hazy orange beer with a small white head. Aroma is spicy and malty, with ginger notes. Taste is caramel malt and spicy, ginger, pepper. Dry and spicy finish. A weird beer

Bottle from systembolaget sweden. Short beige head over a clear amber color beer. Resin aroma from woody spices like false rosmary and wormroth. A bit caramell and spicy taste and low sweetness. A new and interesting spice beer. Beese (3064) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - DEC 1, 2014
Bottle at BrewDog Camden on 13 Oct 2012. Poured a clear, bright amber, with a dense off white head. Aroma was big herbs, slight medicine and iodine, with floral notes and caramel. Bitter flavour, some almond, resin, spice, coriander and marmalade. Finish was fairly light; mineral, toffee, violets and chalk. Different. Maxbier (999) - Maryland, USA - OCT 30, 2014
Copper color with thin off white head. Malty herbal aroma (mint basil I think). Taste is boozy malt, low carbonation and herbs. I drank this one 5 months after it's best but date, which may have improved the flavor ofer what others have indicated. Spicy, peppery finish.

Serving: 330 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a cloudy amber color with chunks of yeast settlingout and a thin off white ring for a head. The nose is minty and herbal with a little chocolate, wood, and something I can’t quite place. Based on the mouthfeel I wouldn’t guess the ABV is that high. A little limp on the tongue thanks to virtually no carbonation. Nice bit of mint, wood, ginger, something floral, and a little of that almost chocolate note. Not one I would like a ton of, but interesting. Glad I tried it. Stuu666 (14563) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 15, 2014
Bottle at home. Pours copper, sweet ginger, light fruity, bit sweet and cloying, herbal.
