A bottle shared with tiong. Dark ruby color, small brown head. Rum, cellar, licorice and raisins in the nose. Medium-bodied. Hides ABV very well. Rum. caramel, light cellar - Innis&Gun on drugs. Mellow. Something Lost Abbeysh here, not so much from BD. Good rum beer, but certainly not the worth of 26 euros ...

Pours pitch black with a bubbly white head. Aroma of roasted malts, ripe fruits, rum, wood, oak, earthy notes. Taste is malty, slightly sweet and roasty with heavy rum notes, hints of wood, ash, ripe fruits, molasses and chocolate. Finish is malty and sweet with ripe fruits, slight roastiness and heavy rum notes. Reminds me a bit of Lost Abbey’s barrel aged barley wines. A bit unbalanced but still quite tasty.
Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small off-white head. Has a slightly roasted malty woody rum aroma. Roasted malty woody licorice and caramel flavor with hints of rum. Has a roasted malty woody licorice finish. Dashimus (248) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 3, 2012
Pours as a thick, sweet, sticky beer. Creamy small head that is short lived. Strong aromas of galaxy chocolate, hints of coffee. Huge malty flavour with liquor undertone of rum and sherry. Complex finish.

Clear medium to dark brown colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, wood, alcohol - rum - sweet rum. Flavour is light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, dark malt, rum, sweet malty, balanced. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic.
From a 330ml bottle on 2/5/2012 (batch no.176, bottled 5/12/2011). Pours a very dark amber with very little head. Has a biggish aroma of rum, brown sugar and caramel. In the mouth, it’s incredibly sweet, with more brown sugar, caramel, toffee and a hint of dark fruit. There’s curious little in the way of balancing bitterness though, just a dollop of rummy alcohol. The texture is quite thick and sticky, and the carbonation is on the high side. It actually reminds me more a Belgian Abbey ale than a big porter. I’m normally a sucker for big, sweet beers, and this certainly fits the bill, but it’s a bit too one dimensional and lacking in complexity for me to get too excited about it. Good but not great. teorn88 (7682) - Rimini, ITALY - APR 29, 2012
On tap at Brewdog Camden, London. Pours a deep dark brown colour with a small beige head. Foam dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is on the sweet side and extremely deep and complex. Booze, cooffee, toffee, caramel, wood, porto wine. Taste follows the nose: big cold complex sweet flavors. Vanilla, booze, caramel and coffee. Mouthfeel is medium to full, quite sticky, with soft carbonation. Overall, definitely great brew, even if I’d expect more bitter roasty notes coming out of a porter. espenra (1015) - Kurland, NORWAY - APR 28, 2012
33cl bottle at Amundsen. Batch 176. Bottled on 2011-11-05. Bøack colour with a slight red hue and a small to non-existant head. Aroma is dark fruits, malts, oak and hints of rum. Some alcohol. Flavour is full and complex. Notes of fruits, leather, malts, syrup, molasses as well as some oak and rum. Some citrus. Suprisingly the alcohol is not noticable, even at 11.5% abv. Medium long aftertaste. 50belair (3643) - Florida, USA - APR 19, 2012
Bottle shared at Brasserie 4:20. I was pleasantly surprised by this beer after looking at the ratings. Clear amber pour with a fleeting white head. Big rum nose. A little thin in the body with decent carbonation. Lots of caramel, spiced rum, some vanilla, malts, and just a hint of Dr. Pepper. Really this porter is very good...
