COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A collaboration brew between BrewDog and Mikkeller. This different vintage was brewed in 2009 with a 1/3rd of the beer being aged in a speyside whisky cask before being blended back with the base beer in 2010. The result is a 13.8% barley wine.
NOTE: This is a different recipe to the previous batch and is clearly labelled as Devine Rebel 2010. If the bottle does not say 2010, the rating should go under the first batch.

October 2017 - Bottle share in Hackney. Huge thanks to Kenny for this. As 'BrewDog / Mikkeller Devine Rebel 2010', 13.8%. Dark ruby red, translucent, foamy light brown head. Aroma is oxidised, redcurrant, toffee. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste is toffee and redcurrant, sugary, those colourful fruit tarts you used to get cheap in a supermarket, booze starts coming through in finish but is well hidden. Interesting stuff – fun to try. More bittersweet, dark fruits, prunes, caramel, dark, burnt toast, soft carbonation, full bodied. Beautiful, hasn’t aged too badly. Bottle shared at Leighton's - thanks to madmitch76!

UPDATED: OCT 24, 2017 Bottle shared in Hackney - huge thanks to Mitch for this geriatric gem. Pours unclear ruby-brown with a creamy, off-white head. Deep ripened berry aroma, lots of toasted toffee, fruitcake, meaty cherry, butterscotch. Big sweet flavour with hints of oxidation, lots more fruitcake, some raw booze, bread, dates. Full bodied, oily and chewy, with average carbonation. Warming finish, with more alcohol, some earth, toasted brown sugar, vanilla, rich leathery berries. This one definitely still has some kick. Good stuff.

Hammy78 (977) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - APR 28, 2017
Bottle from I think it was West Lakeview Liqours in Chicago. Pours a dark brown with a light orange/brown head ring. Nose is sweet maltiness with raisins and some vanilla barrel character. Tastes very sweet with some fruity, a little bitter and is a little hot. Really fucking tasty. It’s been in my cellar since 2011? I can’t remember. Wish I had more.

4.3
Gluepot (752) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 3, 2016
The nose is delicious, featuring Scotch whisky, malt, prunes, dark berries and fruit jam. Dense murky dark brown colour suits the style. A well balanced taste profile leads with some booze, prunes, brown sugar, toffee and tropical fruit. Some oak as well as fruity hops create some edge on a rich sweet beer.

zoucrew102 (2233) - - OCT 26, 2014
Bottle with bottled on date of 2/15/11. Rich caramel malt aroma with notes of smoke and whiskey. Pours dark caramel brown colored with and very short-lived white head with nonexistent lacing. Starts with a lot of sweet caramel and some dark fruit. Finishes very smooth with lots of peaty smoke and a bit a whiskey and only the smallest hint if the booziness. Excellent barleywine.

Amazingly smooth for such a high vol beer. Has a taste of whiskey about it and a woody aftertaste. Excellent choice!
