330 ml bottle. Cloudy, deep red body with medium sized, fast disappearing beige head. Aroma has caramel malt, hoppy fruit, berries, spices and some yeast and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is sweet malt, fruit, hops, some wood and quite bitter. Fine body and a long, pleasant aftertaste. (33 cl bottle from Studenterhuset Aarhus; Batch 406; Claims to be bottled on 11/02/15, which I presume means February 15th 2011) Pours dark copper with medium, tan head. Decent regeneration and some lace. Aroma is malty and complex with notes of molasses, honey, pepper, oak and a hint of oxydation as well as booze. The body is extremely full, carbonation soft, texture oily and the finish is warming and dry towards the end. Taste is mostly sweet with an astringent edge. Little cloudy dark amber to red beer, small aery irregular head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: sweet, honey, caramel, vanilla, malty, some chocolate. MF: quite some carbon, full body. Taste: caramel, some what sour, red wine vinegar, vanilla, hint of whisky, alcohol noticeable, bit sugary, bitter, more vanilla, chocolate. Aftertaste: sour touch, caramel, red fruits, alcohol, sugary, dark chocolate. Wow, an amazing beer!

A solid pour into my large Tripel Karmeliet tulip produces a two-finger thick, amber tinged, fairly quickly disappearing, dark tan colored head. The beer is a concentrated amber color that shows a brilliantly clear, amber tinged, cranberry red hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells strongly whisky influenced; touches of brine, peat smokiness, spicy oak, melon, as well as other notes of concentrated plums, toasted-smoky whole grain notes, concentrated caramelized malt, touches of sherry / nutty oxidation, and lots of woody, earthy, sort of tobacco like notes, and lots of spicy, warming alcohol. Sweet caramelized malt notes are quickly consumed by huge whisky notes that lean towards hot alcohol, astringent mouth puckering oak, spicy wood, cured plastic like hot notes in the finish, and a touch of light bitterness. Toasted malt notes lean almost towards a roast character (or is that the influence of the barrel), and there is a slight nutty character as well as a touch of sherry like oxidation. This is quite light bodied for a beer of this strength, on the other hand it is exceedingly hot and alcoholic.
The nose showed some promise, but this beer has way too much alcohol and Whisky barrel character to be balanced at all in the flavor; I could see whisky afficianados perhaps enjoying this, but it is just too hot and unbalanced for my taste preferences.

Lively medium sized light brown beige head, disappears quick and leaves a headless murky orange purple red-ish.
Smell whiskey (spicy) notes, berries, wood, cream, vanilla, meat and a slight hint of plastic.
Taste is spicy, barleys, dry wood, grass and hay, dry, some liquorice wood, toasted liquor drenched barleys. Bit unbalanced, tend to go lightly to a nasty malty aftertaste.
Aftertaste is grassy and hay with dry liquorice wood and some herbal spices.
Low to medium carbo, spicy mouthfeel, full body and a creamy spicy texture.

pours murky medium dark brown with a decent beige head, little retention. roastiness, some pine, delicate smoky-whiskey aroma, woodiness, dry caramel, nuts, plenty of dark fruits. relatively soft carbonation, full body, nice grassy, lightly acidic and smoky finish.
