Bottle. Nice clear amber colour with a beautiful creamy foam with nice retention. Aroma is a symphony of exotic fruits, hops and well-balanced malts. Lots of pine, simcoe, mango and caramel. Also some sugar and maybe a slight bit of honey. Taste is equally equilibristic and awesome. The sweetness and bitterness is perfectly balanced, and, coupled with the many exotic fruits, this blend becomes a better beer than either of its contributors. Carbonation is mild and pleasant and it reveals little of the high alcohol content. Hair6a11 (1481) - Illinois, USA - NOV 5, 2010
On tap at the Local Option ; Pours a solid dark, cloudy golden hue with whitish head I guess (low level lighting) - I had this one right after the Green Gold; Anyway - Poured into a trappist glass, I guess. Which I find questionable - Whatever. Nice lacing here in comparison to the Green Gold - Aromas are fairly similar - a floral bouquet on the nose with an earthy quality as well. Flavors are much bigger though, sticky to be sure. What this brew retains is that creamy element which I do quite enjoy as its a bit different than what I’ve come to expect from an IPA of any kind thus far - Nice earthy malt tones try to overcome the very big bitter piney floral hops - Again I don’t get much citrus here, however, which is my only disappointment. At a tasting, many thanks DSG, smallish head, hazy deep rusty orange colour, aroma of herbs, sweet grapefruit and lemon, flavour of citrus, tea, herbs and some floral notes, strong and mellow bitterness melding with precise fruity sweetness to create a wonderfully balanced finish. Very good and satisfying. randy1301 (265) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - NOV 4, 2010

Very good, fine yellow head over veiled amber-orange beer. Grapey aroma, cake, some nutmeg and fresh baconfat. Very present rich-estery hoppy nose. Bitter, resiny, grapey flavour with again meaty/fruity esters behind; X-mas pudding; mandarines retronasal. Rich body, viscous, warming. Long petering out of the main taste. Quite good IIPA, certainly not the strongest, nor the bitterest, but rewarding.

Bottle at a tasting. Hazy orange with a white head. Hoppy aroma of citrus, some piney notes and some tropical fruits notes. Flavor has some slightly biscuity maltiness and a bit of caramel, continues bitter and hoppy with some citric notes. Medium-bodied. Tasty and pretty easy-drinking. Tap på Cask Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico 4 Okt 10. Dyp rødbrun. OK luftig skum. Sterk fruktig aroma. Smaken er eksplosiv med mye frukt. Litt malt. Pærer. You name it. Toppøl. Rune (13186) - Tromsø, NORWAY - NOV 1, 2010
Muddy orange in body appearance. Off-white patches on the surface. Powerful hoppy aroma with sweet dark malts behind. Heavy hopped with citric shells combined with sweet caramel malts and a spicy touch. Long-lived dry, bittersweet finish. Rather heavy too drink. A solid nightcap, it really was. Half pint from tap at Cask Pub & Kitchen, London 4 Oct 10. gvmdw7 (188) - California, USA - OCT 31, 2010
Orange hued with a big head. Earthy flavor behind a hop explosion. This beer was phenomenal! I would compare it to Pliny the Elder. It was light on the palate and had a huge hop character to it. Don’t let this one pass you by if you have the chance.
