In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, weve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas thatll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity thatll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, youre left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf

330mL bottle. Pours a deep marhogarny with a milk chocolate head and a massive fruity/spice, toffee apple like aroma. A massive toffee like sweetness as it hit the palate with lots a resinous pine to follow and a bitter finish.

Tap sample. Poured clear reddish brown color with a moderate frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted chocolate malt and small hop aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a complex solid beer.

33cl bottle @ home from Csak a J Sr, Budapest. Body is clear, deep ruby-brow, Head is medium, creamy, brownish, mostly lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is dried fruits, alcohol, citrus, Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, chocolate, mild coffee, Taste is medium to heavy sweet, medium roasty bitter, light alcohol sour. Heavy dessert beer, slightly imperial stout-ish, full aroma, alcohol is present but not that disturbing.

On bottle from Vinmonopolet Norway. Dark amber color, ok foam. Aromas of hops, malt, caramel, dried fruits, toffee & light citrus. Full body & high complexity. Some sweetness, but balances ok- ends up a little bit on the sweet side. Enjoyable

330ml Bottle from Good Spirits Co, Glasgow (5):
Strong & boozy with a dark fruits (dates/figs/plums) before the dark malts & chocolate come through. Warming alcohol aroma that thankfully isnt overpowering. Traces of hops & pineapple appear in a very complex but excellent smelling beer.
Copper with red tinges, a lot lighter than expected. Theres a thin, 0.25cm head of fine bubbles that fades to leave quite a patchy lacing after 20 seconds.
Boozy with minor alcohol notes & sweetness with dark fruits standing out. Complex tasting with some plum, dates, raisins & dark cherries, some figs & citrus too; here is faint hops & pine in there as well. Spicy & warming with pineapple, some malts, caramel & chocolate.
Strong, boozy & sweet but it still managed to go down easier than than expected, helped by the great balance, not to mentione the warming & boozy feel that complimented the medium carbonation & dry finish.

A really nice collaborative effort between Brewdog & Oskar Blues, its definitely up there with the best Ive tried from Brewdog & it went down a real treat & one that Im slightly disappointed wont ever be available again. Wonderfully complex & definitely boozy but the huge array of flavours managed to mask the vast majority of the alcohol & make the beer seem a lot easier to drink than a 10.5% beer should have done; a pleasure to drink.

Draft at Dutchs. Pours a dark reddish amber/copper color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma has nice caramel malts, dark fruits with maybe a touch of alcohol. The flavor has caramel, dark fruits, and resiny, herbal hops, hoppy American barley wine, some alcohol, I would probably like this better with age.

Murky chestnut hue with a lasting beige head. Lovely toffee and sweet leafy aroma. Im getting some hoppy earthy resins with honey and toffee and raisin and light bourbon. Big flavor with leafy hop resins, delicious bitter raisins and dates, orange rind, and sticky sweet earthy toast and caramel malts. Outstanding.
