In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, we’ve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas that’ll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity that’ll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, you’re left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf
Malts: Extra Pale, Munich, Crystal, Chocolate

One-third pint, keg at BrewDog Shepherds Bush. A small head that laced well. Deep rosewood coloured body. Inviting aromas of dark malts, earth, and fruit. Dark fruit, dark malt and dark berries in a well-blended taste profile. Lingering, solid stuff (London 24.09.2014).

Bottle at BeerTemple. Pours dark copper brown with a big head. Citrussy, chocolatey and nutty aromas. Toffee, raisins, hints of marcipane. Seriously good stuff.

On tap at Hostinec Richtar Jakub. Pours dark brown color, beige head. Aroma is roasted, hoppy, floral. Taste is sweet, roasted, raisins, plum. Really nice hoppy finish. This beer has a nice full body.

Tapped at Hostinec Richtar Jakub in Bratislava/Slovakia. Overall a boozy barley wine style beer. Aroma of malt, booze and some sweet caramel in the back. Color dark brown with a stable white/beige head leaving a good lacing. Taste is malty and a lot of dark chocolate bitterness coming from the chocolate malt. I did not taste any hops at all. The bitter character like I said was more dark chocolate and bitter coffee than any hops. Or the hops was way too much masked by the chocolate malt. Anyway, a simple malty and boozy beer.

19-SEP-2014, bottle @home, from Kihoskh. Clear amber with low lasting, tan head. Aroma is malt and hops. Moslty malt, sweet bread, Brown sugar. Taste hte same with some citrus hops and spice. Full body, medium carbonation. Not too sweet but a bit simple. I like Barley Wine:-)

Aniela (4216) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - SEP 21, 2014
Bottle at Haket, Gothenburg.. Clear amber beer with a offwhite head. Malty and fruity aroma. Hoppy flvaouyr with malty and caramel notes. Not the best barley wine I had..

Gurthnar (5816) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - SEP 19, 2014
Tap at RJ. Aroma is rich malty, caramel, but showcasing generous use of American aroma hops. Citrusy, orange, light resiny. Clear dark brown to ruby colour with stable head. Taste is initially cloying with caramel, chocolate and fruits, but after a moment gets cut through by decisive citrusy and zesty hoppiness, finishing balanced with long duration. Not a beer for faint-hearted. Glorious American barley-wine.
