Keg and bottled, special
In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, weve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas thatll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity thatll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, youre left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf
Malts: Extra Pale, Munich, Crystal, Chocolate

Has the colour of a good tawny port, it was a cold night but this barley wine fixed that, a big boozy number I couldnt distinguish the aromas or flavours but really enjoyed the experience, found it to be well balanced, excellent.

On [email protected] 25cl sample. The aroma has some raisin, toffee, prunes, not too much hoppiness, booze. Clear, copper-brown coloured beer with a thin, white head. The taste is medium sweet with some bitterness. There is raisin, sugar cane and booze in the taste mainly. Full and powerful, but lacking complexity and balance. Nice, but not a star.

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy deep ruby, with a moderate off-white head, which lasts fairly well and leaves a little lacing. Resin and fresh herbal hops, berry notes and toffee malt make up the aroma. Resin and spice hops up front give way to full-bodied toffee and port. A little alcohol warmth mixes with berry notes in the finish. A very enjoyable barley wine.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2014 Aroma: coffee, chocolate, caramel, raisin, rum, dry plum, citrus; Appearance: dark pale red, minimal head; Taste: intense bitterness, medium sweetness, medium sourness; Palate: bitter finish, full body, soft carbonation, thick texture Slightly alcoholic bitterness, intense aroma, a truly extreme beer bearing some similarities to Libertine Black Ale

Bottle from llepood nr 1 Gambrinus in Tartu ( 5,50), August 2014. Batch 235. Pours a deep dark mahogany or copper with a light head that retains well and leaves some lacing. Nose is hops, caramel, red berries, plums, autumny earthiness. Downright awesome. Gets maltier as it warms. Taste is... thats heavy stuff here... more malty, boozy, ripe autumn fruits, slight liquorice. Full body, viscous syrupy texture, medium carbonation. Very long, bitter, malty, boozy finish - also dry and a bit winey even. Overall a sweet and boozy barleywine yet somehow its neatly balanced and terribly enjoyable. Perfect for a cool Sunday night at home or a hot Friday night at a bar with good company.

Tap at brewdog shepherds bush. Pours a dark red caramel colour with an off white head. Aroma has caramel, light fruit cake, a little honey... Medium to full body, light to medium carbonation. Sweet with light treacle, lemon, fruit cake, light sherry, some booze... Too sweet for me, but nice enough. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
