Keg and bottled, special
In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, weve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas thatll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity thatll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, youre left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf
Malts: Extra Pale, Munich, Crystal, Chocolate
Hops: Chinook, Cascade, Citra

My first Barley wine. Suprised to taste alcohol was hoping that it will dissapier into massive body. No foams, a small lacing. Very clear and nice rubin color. Taste not so interesting a bit to plane for me, but need to re-rate this or compare to other barley wine.

Bottle. Maybe three years old or so (drink-by date is 2018). Dark fruity nose, with lots of caramel and ripe oozing pine sap. Murky dark reddish/brown color and nearly flat. Heavy caramel initial, stewed dark fruit, overripe prunes, bread, sherry notes, and wood. Medium-heavy (somewhat thin for the style) and rather warming. Nice enough, but probably would have been better a couple of years ago.

On tap at SLL tasting. Pours a dark amber color with a small head, that disappears quickly. Heavy malts aroma, some caramel, coffee, raisin and forest honey. Taste is well balanced and smooth with caramel, roasted malt, and dry fruit notes. Warm alcohol, finish is sweet, with a light bitterness.

Pours reddish mahogany, not much foam at all. Aroma hits you with burnt sugar, caramel, nice sweet decadent feel to it. Bitterness is there and alcohol too, some smoke is coming out from the finish. Something herbal in there too. Decent and pleasurable.

Bottle shared. Thanks Juan! Pours a slightly hazy deep amber with a small tan head. Big caramel and toasted toffee nose with some brown sugar and light grass hops. Well-balanced on the palate with lots of caramel and brown sugar standing out. Sweet with a full body. Finish has some nice bitter hops.
