In collaboration with the awesome Oskar Blues from Colorado, weve created this big, twisted 10.5% American style barley wine. With big boozy aromas thatll swirl round your nostrils and a sweet viscosity thatll cover your tongue from top to tip, this is a beer for people who enjoy nonsense and walking on tightropes. Even when the Circus packs up and leaves, youre left with a lingering warmth and bitterness playing in your month. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/product/shipwrecker-circus#sthash.e9vrs12U.dpuf

Bottled. Amber colour with a mediumsized fluffy head. Aroma is sweet fruits, some malts, alcohol and quite caramelly notes as well. Flavour is similar, but quite rich on the crystal malts as well as some wooden and resiny notes. I liked this a bunch!

Clear deep amber beer, big psle tan head. Palate is airy and slightly crisp. Nice malt, toffee that isnt too sweet. Malt cream. Nice dried fruits. Light hop bitterness, slightly salty. Light finish. The foundation of a excellent barleywine here, it just needs more oomph.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2016 Keg at BrewDog Shepherds Bush - London. Pours clear, bright ruby with a creamy mellow beige head. The nose holds a good dose of caramel, oily pine, berries and ripe citrus. Medium to heavy sweet flavor with some striking alcohol, toasted grains, aged toffee, gooey pine, orange, caramel, bread. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation; chewy. Warming and sticky on the finish, with more ripe and gooey citrus, berries, caramel, faint butterscotch and bread. Very tasty overall. (19 April 2015, score: 3.7)

Bottle shared at The Kernel during Tommys birthday share. Big thanks to Andy for this one! Pours mostly clear, rich amber with a creamy, beige head. Lots of creamy toffee in here, some toasted crackers, vanilla, mellow earthy bitterness, rich bread. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation and creamy texture. Lightly warming to finish with more rich toffee and balancing earthy bitterness. Great stuff. A few years of age have really mellowed this one nicely. (18 March 2016, score: 4.0)
