10 Heads High is loosely based on our awesome 2011 Prototype beer Hops Kill Nazis. This is an uncompromising 7.7% Imperial Red Ale loaded high with American Hops. Think of this as an Imperial india Rd Ale, or a super-charged version of 5am Saint. Either way this is a seriously good beer!

Lawger (275) - SWEDEN - JUN 11, 2014
Pours reddish brown with cream coloured head. Very hebaceous and metallic nose initially. A splash of Underberg with sweetish malty scents and a hint of dried fruits. Flavour starts out soft and delicate, then comes notes of star anise, cloves and an almost citrusy feel. The palate rounds up nicely with a pleasant bitterness and tones of cough drops. A decent beer, if you like herbal digestif bitters.

tfredvik (2032) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 5, 2014
Pours a dark amber body that initially is quite clear, but some huge lumps of easily disturbed sediments get whirled up and makes the beer murky. The head is creamy with a light tanned colour. Strong hoppy aroma with overripe tropical fruits and caramel. Strong flavours, again tropical fruits and caramel, with additional grapefruit. Moderate sweet taste and a quite heavy bitter long-lasting finish. Medium plus body, dry texture, soft carbonation. A good one.
[33 cl bottle, batch 096, enjoyed 2 months before BB date, from Vinmonopolet Storo, Oslo]

laiti (8513) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 8, 2014
33 cl bottle @ home. Batch #096, BBE 26.04.2014
Aroma is musty with some baking stuff, some resiny notes and fruits. Also hints of berries. Flavour has lots of resiny notes, some spiciness and odd metallic off-flavour. Feels a bit woody. Harsh.

tiong (7620) - Espoo, FINLAND - FEB 8, 2014
330ml bottle from Systembolaget

Batch 096, BBE 26-04-14 - Pours dark amber with a small white head. Aroma of sweet tropical fruits, caramely malts, toffee, fudge and syrup. Taste is sweet, stingy hoppy and caramely with toffee notes. Finish is stingy, harshly bitter and malty with notes of caramel, juicy hops and toffee. A bit unbalanced.

lusikka (7833) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 8, 2014
330 ml bottle.
Pours a dark amber colour with an off-white head. Aroma of exotic fruitiness, gooseberry bush and some spices. Flavour of caramel, dry herbal bitterness, gooseberries, musty yeastiness, spices and grass. Medium bodied and a bit harsh mouthfeel. Finishes dry, bitter and quite herbal. Not as drinkable as 5 AM Saint.

olio (10547) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 8, 2014
33 cl bottle.
Pours amber color with a small head. Aroma of resinous hops, caramel malts and fruits, some gooseberry bush also. Flavor of sweet fruits, gooseberries, resinous hops, some spices and dry wooden notes. Dry malty palate with a tangy finish. A bit of a disappointment.

JohnRMurdoch (5047) - Glasgow, SCOTLAND - FEB 1, 2014
330ml bottle from Good Spirits Co. Muddy dark brown with a big foamy head. Sweet pine hop aroma. Herby spicy tar hop flavour. Long lasting sweet tarry hop aftertaste. A big bold BrewDog beer.

OleR (4849) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 25, 2014
Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours a hazy brownish-red, under a low creamy sand-colored head. Bold hop nose. Citrus and tropical, and some green aromas. Well-bodied, warming and smooth. A lightly sweet and toasted malt base, nicely balanced by a good amount of fruity and resinous bittering hops. An honest, well crafted and tasty beer.

finol (3500) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 23, 2013
Bottle. Pours redish brown with a toffee head. Nice balanced brew, taste of biscuits, toffee and citrusy hops.

ghendrix (171) - Rochester, New York, USA - DEC 19, 2013
Bottle at home. Pours clear amber with a foamy white head. Aroma is red fruits, liquorice, caramel and hops on the nose, with additional pine resin in the mouth. Finish is long and medium-high bitterness of the pine notes linger. Medium sweet. Enjoyable.
