10 Heads High is loosely based on our awesome 2011 Prototype beer Hops Kill Nazis. This is an uncompromising 7.7% Imperial Red Ale loaded high with American Hops. Think of this as an Imperial india Rd Ale, or a super-charged version of 5am Saint. Either way this is a seriously good beer!

Dark hazy ruby with copper tinged head. Piney nose. Very bitter, full bodied, piney, slightly meaty hops with brash pithy finish.

330ml bottle from Vinmonopolet. Tiny light brown head. Hazy amber/brown body. Aroma of floral hops, herbs and caramel. Bitter in the mouth, then becomes sweet. Ends with an unpleasant long lasting metallic bitter aftertaste.

Fin rød brun farge. Kremet skum på topp. Duft av frukter og karamell. Noe tørr smak av grapefrukt.

330 ml bottle. Brown with off white head. Aroma of nuts, hops and earthy basement notes. Taste is bitter, nuts and earth.

Foffern (1879) - Bodø, NORWAY - SEP 20, 2013
Bottle at home. Has a hazy and deep mahogany colour with a small beige head. Powerful hoppy aroma with dried apricot, pine and black currant. Lots of hops in the flavour as well with some roasted malt, wood and leather. Rich and smooth mouth feel, and a medium to heavy bitterness. The hops dominates this beer, maybe too much in my opinion since there is more interesting tastes in the background.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Glowing dark ruby, candyfloss head. Fruity aroma, wood, dirt. The dryness is firmly in control here, we are in resina territory. But there is a lot of fruit underneath.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2014 15.09.2013, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Nice creamy longlasting head, and this can truly be called a red ale. Aroma is lots of hops, toffee, forest floor, pine needles, rubber, grass. Taste is harsh grassy, lots of harsh hops, wet leafs, bark, soil, pine needles, burnt caramel, harsh grass, sap, wet grain. Longlasting harsh bitterness. Too bitter and harsh for my taste.

Sweet and hoppy aroma. The taste however I find rather odd, bitter, a bit sweet and taste of old fruits. Is it oxidized?
