10 Heads High is loosely based on our awesome 2011 Prototype beer Hops Kill Nazis. This is an uncompromising 7.7% Imperial Red Ale loaded high with American Hops. Think of this as an Imperial india Rd Ale, or a super-charged version of 5am Saint. Either way this is a seriously good beer!

Sweet and hoppy aroma. The taste however I find rather odd, bitter, a bit sweet and taste of old fruits. Is it oxidized?

330 ml bottle, from an archelogical excavation in my beer "cellar". BB date 26-04-14. From Vinmonopolet. ABV is 7.8%. Brown colour, moderate to low off-white head. Aroma of caramel, spices and bakery, also some fruity and piney hops. Moderate carbonation. Hoppy and spicy flavour, medium sweet. Some lightly roasted malts. Interesting beer. .

0.33l bottle. A surprisingly cloudy one again from BrewDog. Have they stopped filtering so of their beers now? Like it. Its deep and nutty brown, almost a bit murky on the last part of the bottle and it has a medium sized quickly fading off-white head. Yeah, it has that BrewDog nose that goes again in oh so many of their beers. I really enjoy and like it though. Its a bit sweetish, malty with a good dash of fresh cold green hops, some cocoa, a little bit of chocolate, some earthy hints and a dash of old pickled lemons. Really bitter! Almost over-bitter. Definitely unbalanced. Strange based on the aroma. It has a oily mouthfeel and a nice average small bubbly carbonation level. I enjoy all the subtle flavor thats hidden behind that kick you in the gut bitter hoppy base. Some sweet biscuits, malts and even a little bit of bitter cocoa powder. Definitely unbalanced, but still somewhat tasty and quite good. 25.09.2013

Bottle at Stuu?s. Pours hazy red amber with no head. Aromas of solvents, orange, toast, liquorice. Taste is burnt orange, today, slightly medicinal. Sweet finish. Odd.

(Bottle) Dark reddish amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with caramel, treacle toffee, dried apricots, pink grapefruit, passion-fruit and pine needles. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried apricots, grapefruit, passion-fruit, caramel, toffee, a touch of liquorice or anise and a generous piney, citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made, with a generous hop character and caramel malt to back it up. Nice one.

Bottle @ home. cellar aged, BB 04-2014, Dark copper / reddish colored with a creamy head and sticky lacing. Sweet and a bit vinous aroma. Dark fruits, oranges, pines, earth, spices & lemon are well embedded in a warming & pleasant caramel/toffee/biscuit/wood body. Has become almost am. barley wine like in the aroma. Medium mouth feel, smooth carbonation. Bitterness hits in the flavor instantly along with caramel & toffee sweetness, biscuits hints of dark fruits. Finishes with an increasing bitterness, lots of oranges, some pine. After taste has an unbalanced assertive metallic bitterness and is lemon sour with some red berries & wood.

Bottle at a BOSS meeting. Pours an amber color with a thin tan head. Aroma is a mish mash of hops. Slight caramel. Hops overpower this beer. Some metallic notes. Drinkable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lawger (275) - SWEDEN - JUN 11, 2014
Pours reddish brown with cream coloured head. Very hebaceous and metallic nose initially. A splash of Underberg with sweetish malty scents and a hint of dried fruits. Flavour starts out soft and delicate, then comes notes of star anise, cloves and an almost citrusy feel. The palate rounds up nicely with a pleasant bitterness and tones of cough drops. A decent beer, if you like herbal digestif bitters.

tfredvik (1788) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 5, 2014
Pours a dark amber body that initially is quite clear, but some huge lumps of easily disturbed sediments get whirled up and makes the beer murky. The head is creamy with a light tanned colour. Strong hoppy aroma with overripe tropical fruits and caramel. Strong flavours, again tropical fruits and caramel, with additional grapefruit. Moderate sweet taste and a quite heavy bitter long-lasting finish. Medium plus body, dry texture, soft carbonation. A good one.
