COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
5am Saint is The Holy Grail of red ales. We live in a world of disposable deities. Someone, somehow has managed to press that big, flashing moronic override button and we’re hard wired straight into the pockets of false idols trying to make a quick buck. Sadly, for a lot of people the same mentality applies to beer. But who’s to know what’s worth worshiping when monolithic advertising budgets have you sucked down the rabbit hole in the blink of an eye? At BrewDog we are on a mission to open as many people’s eyes as possible. Cast away any aspersions and let the crook of BrewDog be your guide in a whirlwind of conformity and mediocrity. Once this ruby liquid forms a foamy halo around your glass, you’ll never want to look back.
Malts: Maris Otter, Caramalt, Munich Malt, Crystal and Dark Crystal Malts
Hops:Cascade, Amarillo, Nelson Sauvin, Simcoe, Ahtanum, Centennial
Twist: Loads of late hops and bucket-loads of dry hops

This is really good. The pour is dark amber, clear with a big condensed head that laces and stays around to the last gulp. Malty bread like aroma with some caramel in there. The flavor is very malty with a nice earthiness to it. It ends bitter. Finishes dry with a very nice after taste.

Draft at BrewDog USA, served in a flight. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head that settles into a ring and fine film while leaving ropes of lace in the glass. Notes of caramel and toasted malts, tea, grass, florals, and pine needles. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a bitter, malty, slightly sweet mouthfeel. Good balance.

Nice aroma and look. But the taste is disappointing. Can feel sourness well, but not enough. Also too mild

330 ml bottle served in flute. Pours dark red with decent beige head. Nose of cherries. Elderflower, dark cherries. some red wine, plum, some grapefruit. Hoppy, floral, bitter and a bit sour. Soft carbonated, medium bodied. Very nice!

DraftDodger (1458) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 24, 2017
Copenhagen 24/6 2017. 33 cl bottle from Meny. Usual BrewDog design in red. Pours dark amber with off-white head. Settles as flimsy transparent layer of foam. Moderate Lacing. Aroma is sweet - almost sugary. Brown sugar, caramel - almost a little syrupy. Soft carbonation and watery palate. Flavor is sweet with a solid touch of caramel. Very light bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and stays with you for a white. Not my favorite beerstyle - but a solid specimen.

Bottle 0.33L. Slightly hazy, dark amber-to-copper body with an average, frothy tan head, mostly diminishing with some nice lacing, though. Moderate malty (caramel) and hoppy (grapefruit) aroma with notes of fruits (peach). Moderate sweet and bitter flavour with a long-lasting dry finish. Medium body with oily texture; soft carbonation.
