December 2016 - Bottle share at Leighton’s. Huge thanks to Kenny for this one. As ’BrewDog Abstrakt AB:02’, 18%, 2010 vintage, #2012. Ruby red, clear, foamy brown head, dotted lacing. Aroma is sugary, red berry, very rich liqueur, cherry and redcurrant. Very ’red fruit’ nose. Body is very smooth, soft to low carbonation, slightly oily. Taste is syrupy sugars, more redcurrant, some light clove sweets, alcohol not noticeable but probably contributes to the spicy finish. Very sweet and pretty heavy going. Intense and drinkability is low. Glad to try it - thanks Ken. (3.2)

Bottle @Craig’s (Abstrakt tasting). Pours dark brown no head. Nose is acetone and cardboard. Taste is dead, just dead, way too old, sorry.

Leighton (21075) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 8, 2016
Bottle shared in London - thanks to Kenny. Pours clear copper-ruby with a mellow, bubbly off-white head. The nose holds caramel, toasted grass, bread, pine. Medium to heavy sweet flavour, oily and viscous, a little smoke, more pine, crackers, toasted caramel, orange peel. Full bodied, slick, oily and chewy, with minimal carbonation. Warm to hot finish with more oily pine, some woody dryness, hearty pine, crusty bread. Interesting stuff. Has aged pretty well. Not something to chug, but fun.

Bottle at Leighton’s place. 8/12/2016. Huge thanks to Kenny for this one. A rich ruby red, amber coloured pour with a halo of beige head. Aroma is sticky sweet toffee, and burnt sugars, rum, sherry, spicy, boozy. Flavour is composed of semi sweet toffee, spicy rum barrel, boozy fruit cake, cherry, sherry, wine. Palate is semi sweet, full bodied, lowish carbonation. Rounded. Aged. Good. Nice and mellow aged.

Bottle split at Bespin, big thanks to Kenny, 08/12/16. Reddish amber with a decent beige cap. Nose is sweet malt, spice, toasted brown sugars, red berry fruits, earthy, orange peel, wooded notes, fruit cake. Taste comprises a sharp alcohol intake that then mellows a little with a mineral tickle, spice, boosty, toasted brown sugar, candied fruit peel, toffee, fruit cake. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a rising boost. Decent for the age.

Courtesy of Daniele; synthetic cork, bottled 16.06.10; April 2012
Hazy dark amber color, small head. Fruity aroma but clearly past it’s prime. Strong body , well hiding the alcohol, sweetish caramel flavor, with powerful hopping and high alcohol perception.
Too much and a bit too old, but still a good sipping liquor. Also, too much alcohol.

olsvammel (7216) - Örebro, SWEDEN - JAN 8, 2016
Bottle from Systembolaget (aged since it was released). Boozy smell with brandy and dried fruit. Similar taste, malty sweet with caramel. Very boozy but also not that bad.
