Nice, slightly dry, fruity nose. Strawberry more than raspberry. Dusty, lean. Pale red with chunks of fruit and seeds, lace. Dry, dusty, astringent flavor, alcohol and oak. Clean and dry-ass. Woody. Somewhat abusive. Finish of fumes. Interesting, strange stuff.

Bottle shared at the STLHops Pinball Party- thanks to the kind soul who opened this! Pours a cloudy reddish-gold color with a small eggshell white head. Aroma of grapes, strawberries, caramel malts, oak, copper-type metallic notes, and apples. Flavor of grapes, apples, sweet malts, spice, metal, oak, and old berries. I wonder if this is either way past its prime or mildly infected, as I was getting the wrong fruits from it. Light-medium bodied, with an apple juice-type flavor and moderate carbonation. Decent beer nonetheless.

Lovely fresh strawberries in the nose with some raspberries, which is very pleasent. However the mouth is cloying, slightly sour and fruit notes way down and whisky notes up. Nice for just a bit but not a whole bottle.

Bottle. Hazy dark amber/brown with medium diminishing tan head. Flavour is malt, fruit, strawberries, raspberries, caramel, little sour, little brett, medium sweet and a little toffee.

Not aged well - super fruity and unpleasantly sour. Colour is good but it’s lost it’s fresh edge ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours muddy red-orange with a small, frothy, off-white head. Aroma has strawberries, raspberries, vinious, oaky. Medium carbonation, dry mouthfeel. Mild fruity, very fresh flavour, lots of raspberries, marzipan, vinious, warming. A bit too alcohol-sharp for its own good. Long, lingering sharpish finish.

AROMA: overpowering fruitiness APPEARANCE: somewhere between amber and golden? Clear, no head TASTE: heavily sour PALATE: medium body, thin feel, lively OVERALL: not my kind of beer, the sour taste is far too overpowering and the additional fruitiness does not help to improve this. Went down the drain...

Bottle from Ölbutikken, Copenhagen, Denmark. They say third time’s a charm and I was really hoping the third Abstrakt beer would be the first decent one, my experiences with the previous two did not in any way justify the price tag. I had been warned that this beer is prone to foaming over when opened, and it did, a lot. Anyhow, the aroma was apparent instantly. Loads of sweet raspberry and strawberry, finally an Abstrakt that delivers what it promises. Pours a reddish, clear colour with a thin white foam that goes away quickly, beautiful looking beer. Taste is interesting, very interesting, sweet and fruity, very. Slight sour flavour as well. Mouthfeel is thin, almost watery and almost flat, a little fizz, but perhaps this is due to the foaming over. In all, interesting beer and the first enjoyable Abstrakt for me.

Aroma: Fresh strawberries and raspberries, some seed character. Taste: Strawberries, raspberries, blackberry, sour gooseberries, some hop bitterness, a hint of whiskey, boozey, yeasty Mouthfeel: That boozyness lingers and i don’t like it. Otherwise, quite dry, medium body.

375ml bottle, No.2347, topped with a black cork and a wire cradle, bought at Cornelius in Edinburgh in Dec. 2010. Gave a good shot with smoke when opened. Partially gushing, but I had the glass ready so nothing was spoiled. Amber coloured body with sediments floating around. Beige, bubbly head. Smell of canned strawberries. The flavour develops from strawberries to raspberries added by caramel malts. Tart and sweet. Refreshing and dangerously easy to drink (shared with Finn at a session in Tromsø, 29.06.2011).
