Bottled, #2730 of 3300. Poured near black with lighter brown around the edges.. nothing stuck around for head. The aroma picked up burnt coffee, licorice, and cocoa, with black pepper, more robust pepper, and spicy alcohol around.. a little oxidation set in, and it was complementary. The flavor found burnt licorice, molasses, and coffee at the core, with vanilla and dry cocoa on the edges.. a little pepper meat around there too.. picked up a touch of peppery spicage, alcohol warmth, and fruity yesat on the long finish. Heavy-bodied with very low carbonation on the palate.. slick and oily on the middle, and a tad grainy through the finish.. not a lot of Naga presence, but it really didn’t need it. Excellent brew! Will note that the chilies had dropped of considerally. Little to no heat from them. Big roast character. A touches of sweet and sherry but on the dry side overall. tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - JAN 4, 2013
