Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk. At last! Many thanks for the chance to try it. Pours black with no real head. Aromas of chocolate, toffee, nuts. Taste is more of the same. Dark chocolate and cocoa. No spice left.

Black color, pouring oily, without head. Immediate aroma of chillies, and roasted malt; light pepper and duat; strange but not bad. Thick body, sweet; chocolate and malt flavor, with light roasted malts and luckily just a hint of chilly; correct bitterness, with pleasant coffee impression in the end. Very good.

A great creation well celebrated in the BD 6th anniversary. Nose is slightly boozy with classic chocolate and coffee elements. The tastes are rich and thick, featuring moderate elements of Chocolate and coffee, dark rich berries, licorice, tar and cherries. It is a complex and luscious beer, has juicy freshness, but it finishes clean and balanced. A special beer.

33cl bottle as Dog B. Brune fonce, col crmeux blanc-cass.

Its nice to actually box this off in an enforced Garvie Gauntlet - Cheers Craig. A fair few bottles and only one Ill probably open before too long left - this is fading fast in terms of ABV and heat - the draught antics that was on at Cloisters is many dreamy moons ago...

Thick, dark ruby red - no head and thin but thickset lacing. Rich - oddly coconut sweetness in the nose now, no heat and a thick milkshake roast nose. Odd clean nappy plummines. Thick set but very smooth, rich spiciness and a vibrant. Vinious fruitiness, dark cherry and then a big peppery smash. Finishes slow, muddy berry and a mire of sweet floral and coffee. Linger was smooth, reassuring and little bit more gritty spice. Still good, still special but nothing as throttling.

Bottle split at CBC Islington, massive thanks to Fergus for bringing this one out on my 40th, 11/10/14. Black with moderate tan spotting and edgework. Nose is big roast maltings, dark chocolate, figs, molasses, earthy notes. Taste comprises rich roast, coffee tunes, dark malts, brown sugar, boozey notes, dark fruit rinds, light spice. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, sweet roasty close with a peppering of spice. Decent impy, drinks well below its ABV - which may have dropped off a little, but has held up pretty well.

Bottle, oily black with a gravy and old leather nose, smooth and syrupy, with a rich spicy cocoa and roast beef body. Strangely delicious.

Bottle 330ml. Pours opaque brown. Thin quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruits, caramel and more sweet dark chocolate. Taste is chocolate, burnt caramel, coffee and a strong roasted malty backbone. Slight chili burn but not as much as I thought, the alcohol warmth is stronger. Very creamy and smooth. Really great beer, although the alcohol is very present. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
