Bottle at home. Pitch black coloured with a medium sized beige head. Sweet and roasted aroma of dried fruits, roasted bread and port wine. Sweet and roasted flavour of dried fruits and port wine with notes of liquorice. Sweet and roasted finish. Too sweet. Countbeer (6599) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - OCT 4, 2011
Small brown head, disappears quick, on top of a black beer.
Smell oatmeal and raisin and hints of coffee, caramel, toffee and liquorice.
Taste is liquid liquorice, with hints of coffee, herbs, grass, dark chocolate, brown sugars/sweets and oatmeal.
Sweet light herby medium bitter light dry liquorice aftertaste.
Low carbo, soft silky mouthfeel, full body and a oily sticky texture.

Way too big and imbalanced for me. Black and totally flat. Cherry, vanilla, milk chocolate, intensely sweet, nothing to balance it but lots of booze. For the price I paid for it at Cask in London where it was the only (really!) UK craft brew they had that wasn’t on the hand pump, you bet i drank it all. Otherwise i might not have. Bottle. Pitch black with small, brown head. Intense coffee bean aroma mixed with some sugar. Initially unbalanced upon the first sip, being too sweet, it quickly moderates and turns into a deep melange of liquorice and moccha. Great warm, lingering aftertaste. UPDATED: MAY 30, 2015 Bottle from Bierkompass. I had little bit problems to open it, but finally i was successful. Almost black color with medium frothy light brown color. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, woody hints. Sweet taste with coffee, chocolate, alcohol. Tasty.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet and roasted malt. The flavor is very sweet with notes of soy sauce, roasted malt, and coconuts. marcot (770) - Campomorone, ITALY - SEP 21, 2011

wow. this beer is amazing. its literally undrinable. this makes black tuesday drink like 7up. decent aroma and start to the flavor, but man this is the epitomy of cloying. get cumulatively worse with each sip. dont really know what they were thinking here, theres really no arguement that this this a good beer for drinking. tasting and rating, maybe. actually drinking and enjoying, not at all. ØE Århus Syd Brewdog meating. A powerful, heavy Belgian inspired Imperial stout, aged in toasted coconut flakes and cocoa. Classical stout flavor without being flashy game. Very sweet, almost like a Christmas beer. Must be drunk alone, as it is too violent even as a dessert beer. However, in perfect balance. This beer is a dessert in itself. Delicious winter beer with a rare strong taste that is in perfect balance. Good creamy cocoa flavor, but where is coconut.
375 ml bottle. Pitch black liquid with small tan head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, belgian esters, dark berries and maybe very light coconut. Taste is sweet with medium bitterness and lots of chocolate and coffee. Quite burnt. Full bodied with light carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Quite good imp stout, not boozy at all but not one of the best I’ve had. Balanced.
