bottle at dak’s 1/22/12. brown pour on the black side. no head. viscous. aromas of cherry, red wine, vitamin pills, high roast and loads of boozy burning. the palate is overly boozy and sweet... flavor notes of vanilla, molasses, red wine, roast and spice. roasty bitter finish. thick oily and unnecessary. 5/3/4/2/13

Popped the cork that did not "Pop" and Poured pitch black with little head turning to film rather quickly. Aromas of dark malty goodness, toasted coconut, roast nuts, fruit cake, anise, sweet spices and alcohol SWEET TALLAHASSEE ! ! ! (as my friend Arty says) It’s like a dessert in a glass. Burnt Sugars, brown sugar, chocolate, coconut, syrup, dark fruits, cake and then more sweetness. There is a bit of bitterness but it is no match for all the sweetness and throws the balance off completely. Carbonation was lighter than expected which was not a bad thing but the body could have been much fuller and richer especially for what I expected from such a sweet decadent beer. I have really loved the AB series and am a Brewdog Fan. I had high expectations and was not impressed. Well made and I love what they do but not this time so much.

Bottle at the Mikkeller Bar Copenhagen. Well, you will probably either love or hate this "beer" but just to be difficult ... Im on the fence! There's no head and no lacing on this very dark beer. It's jam packed full of flavours for sure and the coconut and cacao are very evident. It's very smooth and quite refined, but it's no refreshing session beer thats for sure. Your taste buds will be dancing without doubt, but whether they will be dancing your dance only you can decide. Give it a try and form your own opinion. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

After having tried to get this one in Glasgow and Edinburgh I finally found a 375ml bottle at Mikkeller Bar. Bottle no. 1602, shared with two fellow Norwegians at the bar. Jet black body. Bright naked surface. Dark bread and sweetness of anise to the nose. Likable taste profile of dark fruits and dark berries on a vanilla oak backbone. Sherry impression. Long-lived ending with strong, but well integrated, alcohol warming down the throat. Superb sipper (Copenhagen, 09.05.2012).

375 ml bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks again, Blake! Bottled 20.02.09, number 2929/3600. Pours a deep, opaque brown color with a small dark tan head. Aroma of rich chocolate, molasses, charred oak, vanilla, coconut, and coffee. Flavor of molasses, dark fruits, caramel, fudge, coconut, vanilla, and oak- not as roasty as the nose. Medium-full bodied, with a smooth, sweet mouthfeel and low carbonation. 12.5% ABV is totally masked. Really rich and smooth and nice.
