Bottled. A deep red beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has strong notes of citrusy hops, alcohol, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, wood, and citrusy hops, leading to a dry roasted finish. The alcohol tickles the mouth. Thanks yespr for sharing. yespr (45446) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUL 24, 2011

Dark chestnut colour with a small off-white head. Aroma of orange peel, white wine and exotic. Sweetish roasted and hoppy flavour with chocolate notes and a bit of alcohol showing jvhemert (397) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 22, 2011
AROMA: complex aromas primarily floral but also hay and freshly cut grass.
APPEARANCE: black, hazy, minimal head
TASTE: lightly bitter, light sweetness
PALATE: full body, oily feel, lively, long finish
OVERALL: a great beer (except for the price) and a worthy competitor of the great belgian trappist. The floral overtones may not be for everyone. Neeskens (328) - SWEDEN - JUL 20, 2011
Pitch black with a nice light brown. Not any roasted notes in the aroma, more pineapple and other tropical fruits. The taste got the same fruity notes but here the roasted flavors are more present. Some dark chocolate and a lot of sweet dark fruits. Very powerful, dense and comlex beer

Bottle. Pours an almost pitch black opague color with a mocca colored head. Aroma is fairly hoppy with notes of grapefruit, citrus, grass and pine along with roasted malts, burnt caramel and coffee. Flavor starts qutie hoppy with the citrus, grapefruit, grass, pine and some earthynotes, followed up by roasted malt, coffee, dark fruit, soy sauce, burnt caramel and coffee. Overall a pretty nice Black IPA, but not as goood as say, Stone Sublimely Selfrightous or Beer Here Dark Hops. sfhodense (4789) - Odense NØ, DENMARK - JUL 17, 2011

Bottle… Deep, dark brown ale with a small, fat-bubbled, off-white head. Excellent retention. Lot of juicy citrusy and piny hops in the nose, but not as much deeply roasted malt as one might expect. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. The flavor features heaps of juicy hops – more flavorful than bitter, but plenty bitter for me – and a roasty whisper of smoke. Finishes bittersweet with lingering tannic and resiny bitterness. Bottle courtesy of darkguardian! 50belair (3643) - Florida, USA - JUL 13, 2011
A big tip of the cap to darkguardian for sharing this bottle. Clear mocha pour with an off white head. Fruity/citrusy hop aromas. The taste follows suit. This is hands down the best black IPA I’ve had to date. It actually taste like an IPA.... hallinghansen (3192) - Odense SV, DENMARK - JUL 12, 2011
