Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours hazy goldenish dark brown with a very small bubbly goldenish beige head that quickly dissipates without leaving any trace on the glass. Smell is sweet, malty and fruity with caramel, moist wood, hay, alcohol, toffee, sweet red desert wine, sweet dark bread and moist soil. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and fruity with caramel, sweet dark bread, sweet red desert wine, hay, moist wood, toffee, red berry fudge, moist soil and alcohol. Mouthfeel is sticky sweet, round, tiny astringent, slightly boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet, bitter, malty and fruity with caramel, biscuits, hay, moist soil, moist wood, dark grapes, raisins and hints of cocoa powder. Very sweet but yet very nice. I had lower expectations than this I must confess. stefannilssons (1580) - SWEDEN - JAN 3, 2014
Jepp, det här var bra, riktigt bra. Smaken var fint balanserad med toner av choklad, jäst, dov fruktighet och lite syra. Balansen satt på sin plats och det gjorde även kroppen. SlackerMads (3360) - DENMARK - DEC 24, 2013
Bottle. Dark brown with a quickly diminishing beige head. Barrel, light vinous, prunes, sherry, light wood, cocoa, brown sugar. Medium body, soft and smooth texture, very soft carbonation. Medium sweet with some bitterness in the finish. Warming alcohol. allmyvinyl (10613) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - DEC 1, 2013
375ml bottle shared with jeevan. Pours very dark brown, thin tan head. Juicy red wine aromas, wood and marzipan. Really intriguing. Taste balances things out between sweet, bitter and booze. Port-like towards the end. Very nice.

0,375l bottle from Brewdog webstore. Pours dark red with a low tan head. Aroma is sweet roasted malts, liquorice and alcohol. Flavor sweet roasted malts, liquorice, alcohol and some hops. Great! KansaiBeerLvrs (5153) - Kyoto, JAPAN - NOV 4, 2013
At the first Kinki Beer Tasting, bottle 3273 of 9987. My second favorite of the four, this imperial brown/barleywine was the best balanced of the bunch. It poured a reddish-brown almost cola-ish pour. The aroma had a touch of booze but was mostly malty sweet, caramel & raisin. The medium-light body was malty sweet goodness, not too complex but incredibly solid. flying_pig (1571) - SCOTLAND - OCT 31, 2013
375ml bottle as a gift (11.5% abv.):Theydon_Bois (19510) - Hazlemere, the lower Xhitlerns, Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - OCT 23, 2013
Sweet with some ripe & dark fruits plus brown sugar adding to the sweetness. There is some grapes and hints of alcohol that smell almost like a fortified wine along with hints of vanilla and port.
Dark brown, almost black with a thin, bubbly head that is a tan brown in colour and quickly turns to a touch of lacing around the edges.
Dark, dried fruit with some grapes & a taste slightly reminiscent of red wine that goes with the aging process of this one I guess. There is some mild strength malts with a part nutty, part sweet taste that includes some vanilla. The beer is slightly boozy with some sugar and hints of caramel in there as well.
Medium to full body with quite a sweet and boozy feel although a lot of the alcohol was successfully hidden and the beer had a better balance that expected. Carbonation was fairly subdued and the drinkability was very good with this one.
A really good beer from Brewdog and an excellent first beer from the Abstrakt series for me. Far more balanced than I would have expected from an 11.5% abv. beer, a real pleasure to drink.
On the train from Hereford to Inverness, bottle from Realale.com Twickers, 18/10/13.
Opaque mahogony brown with a thin light tan covering.
Nose is dark malts, toffee fudge, light booze, muscavado sugars, light smoke, earthy cocoa tones, fruity jams.
Taste comprises dark malts, berry fruit compote, cake mix, chocolate, toffee fudge, raspberry tones, sherry notes.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, boozey finale.
Decent drop, the alcohol is well integrated and this beer carries a good level of depth - lots going on!
