38cl, Bottle 4941/9819, new exclusive Scottish brew Anno 2012, with ginger, chili pepers and black raspberries, from Saveur Bière Lille, very complex brew, sweet/spicy and slightly alcoholic/roasted, not too heavy, balanced, hazy, good head, very good brew, yet very expensive!

I was a little hesitant about the chipotle smoke as i worried it would dominate however...what a well balanced beer. The beer pours black with a quick to vanish, caramel head. The aroma is giner biscuit, and far eastern food. The taste is dry, sweet, fragrant and ginger. Its a warming beer that hides its abv well. I think its not the sort of beer to drink frequently but isnt that the point of the Abstrakt series?

0,375 l bottle, Csakajósör, Budapest.
Poured deep brown with a fine creamy brown head. Strong spicey aroma with liquerice, ginger, light smoke and some herbs. Thick beer with a character of black chaos. Ginger with caramel, spiciness and liquerice, hidden smoke and ash. Really good experiance

Appearance: Opaque black color with a small beige head. Some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet fruity and dark malt.
Palate: Medium body. Slightly sweet and a bit spicy. Creamy carbonation. Hoppy tail.
Taste: A bit sweet and fruity. Lovely juniper notes. Hoppy touch in the end.
Overall impression: Lovely barley wine. But not something I could drink a lot of. Lovely by the fire in the evening.
Personal stats: Bottle (#4665 of 9819) from Systembolaget in Strömstad, Sweden

pilsnerrogge (2985) - Finspång, SWEDEN - JAN 12, 2013
Bottle #236 of 9819:
Pours black with a mid sized head. Aroma is licorice and loads of pickled ginger. Flavour is dominated by pickled ginger. The chipotle shows up late and create a burning feeling on the lips.

Blairgus (4613) - California, USA - JAN 11, 2013
11 jan 3013, bottle. Black. Nose is wet oak, faint red fruit, faint peppers. Thin/med body and almost flat. Really unique flavor. Spicy ginger. It is faintly spicy ad moderately ginger, along with dark slightly bitter chocolate. Not as big, bold, or aggressive as most Abstrakts but it is unique and interesting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

375 ml bottle shared by arminjewell (thanks Armin!) poured a clear reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of chipotles, carmel, toffee, smoke and citrus. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of smoke, dark fruit, leather, roastiness, licorice and chipotles with a smooth dry lingering spicy fruity finish.

arminjewell (9720) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - JAN 8, 2013
Pour out of 375 mL bottle, thanks James! Thick black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of big ginger, plum, caramel, roast, coffee, chocolate, hints of berry, cherry, hints of slight pepper but pretty hidden, molasses, wow this is complex and crazy. Taste is a mix of coffee, ginger, chocolate, roast, hints of berry, touch of grain, hints of earth, finishing fairly sweet, slightly bitter, dry, with a hint of roast. Wow, interesting, but good.
