COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, special series
AB:14 is the latest release in our Abstrakt series and is an oak aged Imperial Weizenbock. Expect a big, bold mouth-feel backed by some powerful banana, caramel, toffee, vanilla and spicy hits woven together with some classic weizen notes. All balanced by an eclectic yet bizarrely balanced variety of hops from America (Simcoe) the Czech (Saaz) and the UK (Bramling Cross).
The beer is at 10.2% ABV and has been aged on toasted French oak chips. As close to bannoffee pie as a beer can taste. Seriously.
This beer was the brainchild of our German Lead Brewer Franz. - See more at: http://www.brewdog.com/blog-article/impending-liquid-anarchy-some-upcoming-beers#sthash.Fvn7kB0i.dpuf

Pours a brown hazy body with no head. Fruity aroma. Rich taste of wood and dried fruit. Very nice but a bit too old? ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Piwo metne w kolorze pomaranczowo brazowym nalewa sie prawie bez piany. W aromacie nuty Weizenowe, drewniana beczka, karmel i rodzynki.

Bottle 3082 of 9992 of 10.06.2013. Red amber color. Excellent aroma: sweet and malty, plum wine, white sweet sherry and oak. Taste powerful: very malty, white sherry, wood and sun-dried banana, dried fruit, raisins. Like.

Beautiful hazy amber liquid . Aroma is interesting with fruit, berries, sweet aromas like brown sugar and caramel - but here the magic stops. The taste is to "boozy", the alcohol just takes over. The only other element is the sweetness and it becomes to much.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2016 375 ml. Bottle 10297 of 10500, bottled almost exactly three years ago. Pours orangey red/brown with a super fine whitish yellow foam that is so well integrated in this drink. The bouquet is very big, filling my large glass with ease giving off strokes of chocolate, raisins, dried apricots, vanilla and some nuts. Taste is like liquid raisins and dates. I think this bottle is a bit passed it?s golden days, the hops has withered a bit. But it is a very full and medium+ complex brew. Looking forward to try the other AB?s!

Bottle, 2013. Pours clear reddish Amber, small beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is boozy, vanilla, toffee, oak. Flavor is quite sweet, light bitter, oak, toffee, hints of clove, sherry. Medium body, lingering bitterness. No longer much of a weizenbock, but what it has become is interesting in its own right.

UPDATED: AUG 18, 2016 Bottle 330ml (2013) - cellared for 3 years. Served at room temperature. Pours a deep mahogany. Head is small, off white and quickly dissipates. Aroma is immensely complex and rich; fine cognac, fruitcake, burnt toffee, caramelized dates, overripe figs, dark cherries, maple syrup, vanilla, oak and Christmas spices. Flavour is extremely rich and smooth with virtually no bitterness at all; fine cognac, sticky stewed figs (strong), muscatels, Christmas pudding, golden syrup, burnt toffee sauce, rancio notes and oak. Full bodied with very soft carbonation, a syrupy texture and a long, warming finish. ABV is very well hidden. Not what I was expecting at all!!! A truly superb winter warmer in every sense!!!

Bottle [from trade with Scopey I think, thanks Paul!] @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus, Joes and Judyvv. Red-brown color, quickly disappearing off-white head. Smell and taste malts, sweet, sweetish alcohol, some dark sugar, lightly bitter in the finish. Not bad, but its not my style.
