COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An imperial stout brewed with cacao and coffee, AB:22 has spent two years in darkness, drawing complex and indulgent flavour from the Speyside whisky casks in which it has resided: chocolate ganache, cold-brew coffee, vanilla pods, molasses, chocolate-covered raisin, fudge sundae, espresso martini, toasted coconut… this is one of our most intense and decadent barrel aged stouts, ever.

TBone (19190) - Pori, - DEC 11, 2017
Bottled 375ml (from BD)
Opaque colour, small brown head. Sticky roasted coffee aroma with whiskey. Full-bodied. Toasted malty, vanilla (fudge), whiskey and cacao in the flavour. Sweetish, hides alcohol quite well. Nice BA stout.

On tap at BrewDog Shoreditch. Black beer no head. Oily black. Just way too hot. Some good oily chocolate sponge cake it too hot on the finish. Too fizzy too harsh to be pleasant. Good alcohol but not the best of the abstrakt series

375mL bottle, pours a thick, motor oil jet black with a small dark brown head. Aroma is intense, with whiskey barrels, followed by cocoa nibs, vanilla, and molasses. Flavour follows suit, with molasses, complex whiskey barrels with a touch of peat, and a tiny hint of vanilla. Love the Speyside barrel character, with low sweetness Wonderfully constructed and elegant. Lovely.

Bottle. Color: Black, thin brown head. Aroma: Pretty intense coffee and chocolate, with whiskey notes. Taste: Dark roasted malt, black coffee, notes of chocolate, caramel, toffe, molasses and vanilla. Full body, oily and warming mouthfeel. Bit earthy. The notes of Speyside whiskey become more intense towards the finish. Bit boozy finish. Soft carbonation. Nice complexity and well balanced. Great!

Whiskey, burbon barrel aroma, cocoa, chocolate, alcohol. Maybe chocolate liquor. Black color with no head. Brutal whiskey taste, barrel, oak, little bit of alcohol. Full body, flat carbonation, extremely creamy. Very nice.

Fullpintofbeer (540) - Bristol, Somerset, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2018
Tap @BrewDog Bristol. Small bubbly dark head, very dark brown, nearly black colour. Aroma of soy sauce and a bit of alcohol. Acidic taste with nice dry aftertaste, full body, long finish, flat. Not a spectacular aroma, but definitely well balanced, very drinkable despite of 12.5%, alcohol nicely hidden. Fantastic!

Bottle at tasting. Aroma of chocolate, licorice, coffee, booze and red fruit. Taste has thick licorice, coffee, oak, booze, chocolate, smoke, mild peat, ripe red fruit, cherry, whisky and a boozy rich finish. Nice one.

Bottle at home from Brewdog online
Pours thick and unctuous, dark brown black with frothy tan head. Rich chocolate and coffee aroma on the nose. Full bodied, fairly sweet but tempered by whisky influence which becomes more warming as drink progresses. Deep wood character with plenty of dark roast coffee and cocoa notes. A very decent abstrakt release

UPDATED: MAR 21, 2018 Bottle from BrewDog online. Thick, oily pour with small amount of rich hazel head. Coffee and malt on the nose. Malt loaf, salted caramel and dark chocolate notes on taste. Good, not brilliant.

kaserov (1298) - Oviedo, SPAIN - MAR 21, 2018
