Superb Effort on the Porter, main detractions for me come from the Brew Dog Line for prices in Australia...we must pay for the quality yes, but if I were to enjoy in Bonnie Scotland, I’d be rating it higher, if even only because I had a few extra bucks to buy another! gunser (55) - HUNGARY - DEC 26, 2013
Sötétbarna szín, vöröses csillogással. Világosbarna közepes hab, ami lassan összeesik, majd feloszlik. Illata édes és fűszeres: porcukros kakaó, vanillia, szerecsendió és parfűmösen gyümölcsös is. Közepesen szénsavas és közepesen testes. Íze enyhén édeskés, étcsokoládés, kevés kávéval és erdeigyümölcsösen fanyar, kicsit füstös. Utóíze intenzíven keserű és száraz, kis alkoholos melegséggel. cgarvieuk (25391) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - OCT 19, 2010

Cask handpull at Market Porter. Black with ruby edges. Lasting thick tan head. Choc aroma. Full and luscious in the mouth. Now that really is lovely. So full and choccy in the mouth. Really excellent. If I have a better beer today I will be surprised. Brilliant Gurthnar (6110) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - JUL 12, 2012
UPDATED: JAN 26, 2013 Bottle from Brewdog Slovensko. Dark brown almost black colour, big light brown head, fully lasting. Aroma chocolate, caramel, malty, smoke, hints of hops. Interesting hops twist is getting stronger eventually. Taste is medium bitter, medium sweet, very well balanced. The sweetness progressively fades, and the bitterness stays in the finish. Dangerously drinkable. Very good. 8 5 7 4 16 On tap at Richtar Jakub. Aroma malty, chocolate, fruity, light roasted, hints of smoke. Taste is rich smoky chocolate fruits. Very nice combination and balance. Initially sweeter, finish turns smoky and roasty bitter. Highly drinkable. Excellent.

I do like a porter. In fact, when I first came to ratebeer my feeling was that a certain black nitrogenated pint with a creamy white head was the start, beginning and end of beer perfection. I then started working for a small brewery and my horizons expanded. I retain a soft spot for a big dark pint and not just of Vitamin G. So it is with a feeling akin to watching a naughty schoolboy from your alma mater having a drag on a cigarette where they think they can’t be seen, just like you did so many years ago that I review this beer. Despite being dark the beer allows plenty of light through revealing russet tones and tawny port. The head sat patiently for a while and then got sick of me typing and vanished, leaving a skim of cream colour across the top of the beer and a touch of Brussels lace. Aromas are of plump raisins, vanilla, allspice, chocolate and dates. This beer smells as if it has depth and complexity, this also comes through in the flavour where there is all of the above as well as coffee. Thick, rich Turkish coffee and then fruit cake soaked in rum. Wow. Deep, tasty and mellow dessert spicy. The finish asserts bitter dark chocolate, liqueur, dates and any temptation to tell the schoolboy off disappears as you cast your mind back to Christmases of the past and bad behaviour that you never got caught doing. And you smile.
That’s this beer, the smile of a lovable ratbag reminiscing.

Keg at Brewdog Camden. Pure black with a thin lacy off-white head. Aroma of roast grain, coffee and a hint of vanilla. Tastes great with full-on roastiness but a lovely creamy softness for balance. Genuinely lovely but deadly with its 6.2% abv oqnid (131) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 6, 2014

Cask Conditioned handpump Wellington London. A black beer with a slightly off-white bubbly head. Good roasty coffee in the nose with typically good BrewDog hoppiness. Hops shine through in the mouth with coffee and chocolate. Reminded me of DS Over The Moon in a way. A really nice melange of flavours although I picked up zero vanilla. I would also have liked more body for the ABV, but hey ho.
