Bottle from Vinmonopolet Storo enjoyed at homeLarsEngen (367) - Sandvika, NORWAY - FEB 3, 2013
Dark copper, beige head that falls down quite fast. Smells of grapefruit, pine, caramel and candy. Heavy sweet, a real cerial soup, candy, this is a sugar bomb - too much on the sweet side; with a sting of alcohol to mess it up more. Oily texture, full body, soft carbonation. Heavy bitter finish with pine and resins. A imperial ipa where imperial stands for the extreme sweetness you get. It’s so sweet the bitterness is almost killed off even though it’s quite heavy. The hops are quite nice; but the sugar is in pole position here
33 cl bottle from vinmonopolet kolsås. Batch 185. Pours clear amber with a medium off white head. Hoppy aroma with some alcohol notes. Pinapple and other fruits. full body, heavy bitterness, alcohol is very well hidden for a 14% ABV. Nice one but expencive. dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - JAN 31, 2013
Bottle @ tasting. Aroma is (rubbing) alcohol, sharp hops, herbs. Flavour is an overkill of hops and alcohol. Just too much. maneliquor (3514) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - JAN 29, 2013
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Orange pour with a small, firm yellow head which slowly disappears. Nose shows lots of dried fruit - apricot, banana. A fair bit of blood orange and heavy hop resin too. Taste is very sticky sweet and resinous. Loads of orange zest and citric undertones. Heavy sticky date notes. Quite sweet. Solid beer and worth a shot ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone ABS (1065) - Stokke, NORWAY - JAN 25, 2013
Amber, average amount of white head. Nose is mostly alcohol, some hops, honey, herbs, flowers. First sip: wow this was heavy. Very bitter. Very thick mouth feel. The liquid sticks to my lips. A fun beer, but a bit to the monsterous side of beer:)

Bottle at North Bar, Leeds. It is fairly old and had been living in a fridge, so Im giving it the benefit of the doubt. Bottle looks good, pours an amber orange, couple of fingers of head. Aroma is orange, caramel malts, a little hint of butter. Taste is initially sweet, with caramel, butterscotch, toffee, with some hops coming towards the end. Oh, and booze. ALOTTA booze. It seems flawed. Syrupy mouthfeel with a long finish that doesnt have any sense of refinement - its a sugary, bitterish Jackson Pollock. Id expected a lot more. Mango-yellow head, medium to large but not very stable, over faintly hazy amber beer. Fruity USA-hops with a sharp edge, as from booze, candied peel, dried milk. Smelling very sweet indeed. Short bitterish flavour, soon overtaken by the combined maltsugar/alcohol onslaught. Fruity vectors remaining, however: more and more like candied fruit (oranges, figs, apricots) than the lychee/passionfruit the nose suggested. Orangemarmalade with the sugar crystallizing out. Feels syrupy-oily, despite no lack of carbonation. Burning MF. I’m tempted to compare it somehow to the S.A. Triple Bock - and not to the detriment of that one. Here, it would seem that the massive maltbacking has gone on Armsteroids, leaving the hops lagging behind in the peloton. hogne (8) - Stavanger, NORWAY - JAN 19, 2013 does not count
Far too much taste of alcohol. Not at all bitter, or it could be but I can’t feel it because of the alcohol. JEK69 (396) - FRANCE - JAN 17, 2013
Pours light copper with thin foam head but big bubbles.
Nose is good but not so intense.
Malt: caramel and cereal
Hop: passionfruit, mango and herbal notes.
In mouth it is another story i.e. really intense beer, full of flavours: malt, candied citrus peel, malt. Very creamy, sweet, then salty, then alcohol and bitterness and a peppery spicy finish.
Great imperial IPA!

Medium deep offwhite head. Clear amber body with carbonation.
Strong tropical fruit and pineapple aroma with resiny sugary
notes. Sweet-dryish pineapple and tropical fruit taste with
resiny mango notes. Full-bodied. Sharpish, slightly hot
mouthfeel. Dry-sweet salty mango and pineapple aftertaste with
resiny citric notes. Interesting, but too over the top to really
be very enjoyable. (0.33l bottle, from wine monopoly, Vika,
