Appearance: Pours a cloudy, yeasty amber with a awesome looking fluffy foamy white head.
Aroma: A strong whiff of earthy Euro hops and an equal sized amount of sweet and spicy malts.
Taste: Starts with a subtle bitterness, followed by a moderate amount of caramel malts and a layer of roasty chocolate notes.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and slightly creamy.
Overall: To date, the best BrewDog beer I have had. I enjoyed the character the beer had in its appearance and taste. DSG (15035) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - SEP 18, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 11, 2010 [9/5/09] Bottle sample during LCRBM at Kulminator in Antwerp. Murky amber color with a white head. Aroma of hops with some earth and some fruits. Dry hoppy flavor with some spicy hop notes, a bit of earth and citrus hints and some malt sweetness in the back. Medium-bodied. darkguardian (733) - Florida, USA - SEP 14, 2009
12oz bottle. Pours a crystal clear amber with a billowing beige head with huge staying power and ample lacing. Beautiful beer. Nose is vanilla and wood with lively pine and resin notes. A little citrus. Big full body on this beer. Maybe a little to full. A little caramel and vanilla up front but huge woody notes with a hint of scotch peat. Complicated beer but it lacks the hop flavor I think most expect. As a beer of its own its kinda neat but the bitterness is fairly high and not really connected to any hop flavor so its somewhat off putting. This is cool experiment though, it just needs a little more hop flavor to make it all come together. Fantastic body for an ipa. Well done if not quite great. A gorgeous clean gold colour with a superb tight white head. Fruity hop aroma with plenty sprucey notes and a little dusky wood. Similar flavour but just seems a little too “old” to really shine. Maybe it was the stress of the epic journey. Good chewy malt base however. And the finish is really dry and bitter. Certainly makes me want to take another sip but overall not one of Brewdog’s best beers. Hats off to the fellas for an utterly superb experiment however.
Bottle (LCRBM 09): Amber coloured, hazy, bigger - stable - off-white head; big hoppy nose, some fruity traces underneath; solid dry bitter flavour, some malt detectable; lingering hoppy and fruity finish. Great beer............

(Bottled) Hazy amber with a medium, quite lasting head. Aromatic hops (British-style) in the nose, with some added exotic fruitiness. Flavor is grainy-malty, fruity, moderately bitter, salty-woody-aromatic, and drying towards the grassy-bitter finish. Some minor gluey and roasty notes. Medium to full body with soft carbonation. Pretty good, but slightly unrefined as a whole. Feels like something you’d get by mixing aged North Bridge Extreme and Bigfoot. TBone (17779) - Pori, FINLAND - AUG 29, 2009
Bottled (from Utobeer, no batch or BB).
Amber color, big cloudy off-white head. Caramel, piney hops and yeast in the nose. Chewey caramel malty flavor with quite robust body. Some tobacco ash, piney hops. Quick finish. Easy to drink. Suprisingly more caramelly (with sea wind touch) than hoppy bitter. Bov (13004) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - AUG 27, 2009
courtesy of Laurent Mousson and Melissa Cole - clear reddish-amber colour with a persistent beige foam; aroma of dust and aromatic hops, almonds and wood; moderate carbonation and with a good malt backbone; creamy mouthfeel, quite woody and hoppy finish cgarvieuk (25224) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - AUG 24, 2009

Bottle from Utobeer, ABV 8.5%. Hazy amber with a big yellowish head. Comfortable citrus, vanilla and caramel aroma and flavours. More oaky vanilla as well as vinous notes in the mouth. Dy throughout. This beer does not scream, but has a very complex personality. I rate that highly.
