Thanks so much to Todd for sharing yet another awesome treat! Cool ass homebrew label on this one, a nice contrast to the sleek Euro design of the previously sampled BrewDog. Hazy copper pour with moderate carbonation. Crisp and mildly faded hops in the nose (old IPA indeed). Just a hint of citrus there too. Mouthfeel is nice and smooth, almost casky. While the hops are certainly not very bright, the flavor was enjoyable even so, with no hints of bland oxidation but simply a mellowed brew that was comfy with its chewy malts and bitter hops. Cool idea for a beer, nice drinking too. jgb9348 (6394) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JUL 3, 2010
Nice caramel coloured body with a thin tan head and a bit of opacity and a few bubbles rising. Aroma of oldish hops, tons of malt, alcohol, raisins, nuts and a bit of pitted fruits. Medium-bodied; Relatively flat (bu that seems right) with a light european hoppiness, some mild sugars and a heavy dose of malt and alcohol. Aftertaste is nice and clean - malt coupled with a good amount of hops, showing a bit of an old ale character of must, basement and some pitted fruits - this definitely shows the journey around the Atlantic Ocean! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased for around US$30 at Half Time in Poughkeepsie, New York, sampled at home in Washington on Christmas in 2009. paid $28 for a 12oz bottle and was quite excited to try this experiment.. Pours a hazy pale gold, with lots of white foam .. . honey, wood, pine, sea water in the mouth .. . has held up well, brewdog is awesome.. . It’s not illegal. It’s frowned upon, like masturbating on an airplane. wavers1 (916) - Notown, California, USA - JUN 18, 2010
courtesy of madmitch76, thanks homie! nice pour, looks good with an ample head. the aroma is very subdued and light, not much to work off of there, untuil you swirl with you hand over the glass and then capture-sniff, then the aroma is there. the taste is surprisingly more present, nice bitterness, slightly creamy, medium body, drinks very easily, though not all that complex. though im pretty sure complexity wasn’t the focus of this brew, i believe it founds its destination. Bottle courtesy of jtclockwork. Pours a hazy copper with a tan head. Smells of restrained, sweet, juicy citrus, some perfumy hints, some spicy touches. Tastes of pepper, earthy, some ghostly hints of citrus, resiny touches, some tea hints. Finishes peppery and bitter. A fairly solid IPA. Too bad it’s so expensive.

Bottle, not quite sure why these were 25$ -40$ dollars for a twelve ounce, thanks jeff for sharing. Golden pour with white head. Decent pine and citrus flavored ipa, good for 6-8$ but this is a little ridic,. BoBoChamp (5755) - Gent, BELGIUM - MAY 28, 2010
33cl, no mention of ABV, new exclusive Scottish brew Anno 2009, thx to Jeppe!, complex bitter brew, balanced, cloudy, small head, good brew, yet very expensive! leems (406) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 28, 2010
Based on the appearance of this beer I am very hopeful, it is beautiful! Perfect amount of head clear, I’m ready for this. Then I got very little aroma out of the beer, and it was in a snifter! What I did get was faint pine and citrus hops. My first sip and all I got was malt, second sip... slightly sour? Third sip, oh there’s the bitterness of the hops, I nearly forgot this was an IPA. Once I got through that the beer came together, it was a little malt, nice bitter back bone though, a little soured, and then just a tiny bit of hop flavor which wasn’t very pronounced just hiding in the back. Not knowing what an Old IPA should taste like this could be a great example, however it’s not a great modern IPA though I would drink it again if it weren’t so flipping expensive! skortila (5967) - Baarn, NETHERLANDS - MAY 17, 2010
Shared at Bullits place. The aroma has citric hops, some caramel malt. Hazy, copper coloured beer with an off-white head. The taste is bitter, citric hoppy. Dry finish. Okay. fata2683 (2176) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - MAY 15, 2010
bottle shared by Argo0 at RBWG, pours dirty blond with a medium white head. Aroma is strong pine and herbal hop tones. Flavor is toasted malt, pine hops, some wood elements. A decent IPA.
