33cl bottle from cervezalandia. Golden hazy color. Thin to medium head. Medium carbonation. Low to medium bitterness. Caramel, wood, hop, fruity aroma which makes it nearly an IPA. This is good.

33cl bottle from Geers, batch#118, BB 17-04-2013.

Bottle, 09/30/2012. Pours reddish amber, sparkling, thin frothy white head. Aroma is light whiskey with mild caramel and vanilla notes, honey, some straw malts peaking through, lager yeast. Taste is sweet, buttery, jarring combination with rough-like lager grains, dry mild bitter finish, boozy. Light body. Doesn’t quite work for me.

Bottle at home (Bitter Virtue) - 22/09/12. Pours a hazy pale golden with a thin white head that soon clears to the edge of the glass. Pale malts, orange peel, melted plastic, grain and herbs on the nose. Malt, grain, wood, medicinal tones, citrus and herbal aspects to the flavour with some hints of whisky. Medium bodied, a little watery for 7.7%, medium carbonation with a medicinal orange flavour in the finish. Overall something a little different and in my opinion it is certainly drinkable. I’d share a bottle again if someone else had already sourced it, but I wouldn’t fork out £4.50 for it in the future myself!

Bottle @ FOneFan. Clear golden with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit and strawberry/butter?. Flavour is malt, berries, butter/strawberries, medium sweet, wood and a little dry.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Medium head with medium duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are malt, caramel, sugar, fruits, wood and notes of hops. Thin bodied. Worst brew from Brewdog I have tasted.

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, light butter and a little alcohol. Flavor is medium sweet and light acidic. Sweet finish with warming alcohol. An experiment gone wrong. 150912

Bottle @ Really late Summer Tasting Ulfborg, 2012. Pours clear golden with a bubbly head. Nose is butter and berries. Strawberries, wood and butter. Prickly alcohol. Shit!

UPDATED: JAN 23, 2013 Bottle. Clear golden colour, small white head. Aroma hops, caramel, dark fruits, light roasted. Taste medium bitter, almost medium sweet, sweet wood hits you right away, light smoke. Barrel aging brought a new dimension to this beer, I am not sure if I like it, but it is definitely interesting. Minor dark fruits in the taste also, minor caramel. Finish smooth sweet wood with hoppy bitterness. Not bad, but not a lager of the year either. 7 3 7 3 14 - 11.9.2012

Rerate 23.1.2013 - Clear golden colour, nice stable white head. Aroma is plum, raspberry, wood, very light mint (where does it come from?). The wood in this beer is sweet. Some grapefruit sourness appeared, also diacetyl. Wood seems to be fighting with the hops here, mostly in finish. I definitely do not think putting this in barrels was a good idea. However it is good that I had a chance to taste the unusual.

Pours amber with a large, lasting head. Nose shows honey, vanilla oak notes, buttery toffee, spicy hops and alcohol. A bit weird. Some oak transfers through as a flavour, along with the spicy notes, alcohol and soft toffee. The alcohol seems a little harsh and whisky-like. Carbonation is too high.
