Draught at BrewDog Camden on 4 Mar 2012. Poured black, with a dense beige head. Aroma dark fruit, roasted malt, fruitcake and resin. Thick mouthfeel. Molasses in the flavour, with port and dates. Finish was burnt malt, warming booze, dark chocolate and aniseed. Leighton (22298) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 11, 2012
Tap at BrewDog Camden, London. Pours oily black with a creamy, beige foam head. Aroma holds a lot of rich, dusty cocoa, some ripe and dark fruits, heavily roasted malts. Flavor is very sweet with lots of roasted malts, chalky chocolate, dark sugar, prunes, raisins, alcohol, dirt. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation and a creamy texture. Warming finish with more dark cocoa, booze, fructose, dried fruits, faint licorice. This is heavy-duty stuff, man. Give the beer a little swirl and a lovely, tight and creamy head billows to life. I’d say the 1/3 I got is just the right amount. My edge is well and off. shoulderbroken (4256) - Tokyo, JAPAN - JAN 13, 2012
Keg at Brewdog Camden. Dark brown with very little head. Just a bit of golden bubbles round the edge of the glass. Aroma dark fruit, vinous and a bit of booze, lots of oatitness. Taste is very fruity, roasted malt, bread, maybe bit of liquorice. Very nice. Very thick, slick and oily. Some malt sweetness. Oaty sweet finish. Lovely. ghendrix (171) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUN 5, 2013
Draft in Brewdog Glasgow. Came out the tap with almost lamina flow. Thick black oil with tan head reducing to lacing. Coffee, chocolate, malty, molasses from nose to the swallow, but very well balanced. A sweet warm aftertaste, liquorice and raisin perhaps. Really enjoyable. allmyvinyl (10995) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 27, 2014
Keg at Brewdog Edinburgh, total recall rating. Must’ve been May 2012 and I got some cheeky time off in lieu. I had two bosses at the time, and I’m pretty sure one of them okay’d it. Nipped up to Brewdog and this was on. 2pm. Nae lunch. Think it was a half pint. Just ace. Not sure what else happened that day, but this beer was epic.

Keg at BrewDog Edinburgh, Black inky pour, thin tan head. Boozy raisin nose, red fruit, open alcohol, hint of sake/coconut too. Some oak. Thick viscous body of cocoa, milk chocolate, some rum and a hint of tannin even. Some coffee grounds. Long, bittersweet finish. Nice! FaithHealer1 (358) - SCOTLAND - JAN 5, 2012
Keg at BrewDog Edinburgh. Pours a black with lovely beige-brown head. Aroma is creamy, with raisins and liquorice. Taste is similar, with liquorice, slight coffee and chocolate notes and a creamy yumminess. Lovely. Winning. Yes. Scopey (15662) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2012
Keg at BrewDog Camden. It pours jet black, with a thin dark tan head. The nose is tangy dark fruit, cherry, chocolate, icing sugar and some roasted malt. The taste is varnish, cherry, raisin, tangy plum, currant, smoke, tobacco, roasted malt and some alcohol warmth, with a dry-roasted finish. Full body, fine carbonation, smooth mouth-feel and well balanced. Really fruity and drinkable imperial stout - delicious!
