330ml bottle kindly shared by Chriso and fonefan at The BrewDog Bar in Manchester. Inky black body, naked surface. Vanilla oak to the nose added by bready malts. Taste good with Christmas spices, bread, sweet liquorice, and gradually arriving dark fruity hops that lingers for quite a while. Warming alcohol. Full bodied. Nice sipper (25.01.2013).

December 2017 - Tasting in Hackney. Bottle shared with big thanks to Kenny. As 'BrewDog Christmas Paradox 2012'. Pours black with no head forming. Aroma is dark chocolate and rum, touch of papery oxidation. Body is light and frothy with tingly carbonation. Surprisingly well carbonated given the lack of head and 5 years' bottle ageing. Taste is tangy red berries and rum, some booze showing up and a salty finish. Decent enough stuff. (7-3-7-3-15=3.5)

Bottle shared at Leighton's place at the Ktwse tasting, 12/12/2017. A clear ruby red coloured pour with a brown hue, a halo of beige head. Aroma is earthy roast, jammy fruit, roast, jammy fruits, roast. Rich. Flavour is composed of rich roast, christmas, red berries, smoked, earthy, smothy roast. Palate is sticky sweet, spicy wood. Good.

I have aged my beer for five years. Should I have been waiting for five years more? Well, it's too late to know now. Anyway, the flavor is very good. A nice rum aroma crowns the beer. Brewdog knows how to hide the taste of alcohol (AVB15%). Almost the room temperature is perfect for this beer.

12Dec2017 Sweet, dark fruits, candied prunes, rum, oak, sweet, dark chocolate. Hazy, very dark brown, tiny, creamy, beige head. Heavy sweet. More dark sweet fruit, prunes, dark, sweet malts, intense rum, oak, boozy dried fruits, soft carbonation, full bodied. Very nice, rich and intense. Bottle shared at Leighton's - thanks to madmitch76!

Bottle at home, 27th December 27. Pours black without much head. Aroma is rum, liquorice, barrel and liquor. Taste is intense, barrel, chocolate, liquor, wood, rum comes through, sweet, but still not overly. Fantastic stout.

Boxed bottle. Missus bought this, as a gift, but can’t remember where from. Just about black. No head. Nose has black treacle. Dates. Figs. Liquorice root. Sugary espresso. Vanilla. Dark rum. Smells fantastic. Taste is sweet and sticky, with some liquorice, dark fruit bitterness. Really smooth mouthfeel, that belies the 15% easily. Rich fruit and vanilla oak booziness to finish. Delicious.

Drank 28-3 @Majid the night before going to Struise. Very balanced, but also rum. Really liked this one.

Thank you Philippe! 330 ml. bottle split by 3. Obv. 2012 Vintage. Black with almost zero head. Nose is very sweet in a gravy, soy sauce fashion, quite boozy,.... No signs of oxidation here amazingly. It is bit too umami for me & lacks all complexity, it improves when you let it stand a bit & open up, getting some chocolate noes, very sweet, candy, umami, gravy, barrel treatment is seemingly all alcohol & no barrel character (that might be just the ABV of the base beer & not even the rum), finish is overly harsh boozy, feels boozier than even 15 % ABV, plastic, harsh,... Body is plastic soy sauce. Decent when i warms up a bit, very crued alcoholic umami brew. Others loved but I liked it quite a bit less.
