A re-worked Alice Porter especially for Christmas. With orange zest, cacao and a tiny bit of chilli.

The perfect beer for Turkey, The Queen’s Speech, boring relativies and boozed up Pictionary.

Merry Christmas.

Pours almost black with a beige thin head. Aroma of licorice, coffee, cacao and spice. I also detect some cinnamon and dark chocolate. This porter has a somewhat watery texture, it is thus thinner than I expected. This is a good porter, its not that, but this Brew Dog didnt meet my expectations. Nice and roasty finish, though.

330ml bottle thanks to the hallowed Garvie cellars. Pours opaque dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of chocolate and liquorice. Taste is sweet, faint orange, light chilli at the back. Held up very well. A good festive tipple.

Bottle at BrewDog, Camden on 4 Mar 2012. Poured near black, with a beige head. Aroma of spice, Xmas pudding and smoked malt. Full mouthfeel. Black cherries in the flavour, with dates, caramel and fruitcake. Finish was peat, molasses and peal.

Bottle at Craig’s. Tasting a bit cardboard now, hint of the spice, sweet chocolate.

McNeillR (2329) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - APR 5, 2014
Dark brown, rising bubbly beige head. Earthy sultana and malt nose. Oaky and light vanilla - gassy and meaty. Light fruit, dank bitterness and rich sweetness following through.

Backlog. Bottle via Systembolaget. Many of their more experimental beers don’t really work with me, especially when you throw chili into the mix, this however is an exception, i quite liked this, good balance between the malts and all the spices.

(Bottle, as "Winter Porter") Dark brown colour, almost black, with hints of ruby when seen through light. Frothy pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate, black rye bread, a touch of smoke, liquorice, cocoa and roasted nuts. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, cocoa, black rye bread, coffee, liquorice, black rye bread, some smoke and a certain spicy bitterness in the finish. Some chilli comes through after a couple of sips. More than medium body, with a touch of sweetness. The chilli and smoke makes it a bit different, but it’s quite nice.

small fizzy offwhite head. fair lacing. mostly diminishing. flat thick brown body. aroma: moderate toasted malt, dark chocolate, mild coffee, alcohol. if: moderate sweet. ff: moderate sweet very light bitter; average duration. palate: light medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic finish. Tem um leve toque ácido do começo ao fim que a diferencia das outras Porter. Tradicional amargor de café pouco perceptível no início, vai ganhando as caras perto da metade da cerveja. Ligeira picância no final. 40s

Bu en 2011 Vraiment une pure expérience, entre un tout petit arrière goût de café et le côté épicé très prononcé, mais qui ne pique pas, cette bière que je ne boirais pas tout les jours est très intéressante !

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 06.11.2013
Aroma is somewhat spicy and a bit musty with cocoa powder, soy sauce and peppery spices. Flavour has soy sauce, some alcohol, spicy notes and . A bit leathery palate and dry finish. Very slight feeling of chili – and it might be placebo as well. Not very good but not bad either.
