COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
keg/nitro/bottle
A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

Bosskie (920) - NETHERLANDS - SEP 20, 2017
Pitch black, nice carbonation and just about the darkest head I've seen so far. Smell is thick cocoa coffee mixed with pine and fresh nuts, yoghurt, cinnamon, curry, pine, mint. Strong alcoholic warmth and astringency. Apples, raisins, dates. Some wet wood. Taste is full and smooth and quite subtle considering the smell and alcohol. Starts quite fresh with apples and fizzy bitterness and moulds into a heavy cocoa and ashy coffee finish, dry and clearing the palate, leaving a minty freshness. Smooth and silky chocolate dominates the whole but without overwhelming, leaving room for a surprising range of tastes to gradually step forth. The onlynthing I'm not so keen on is the dry chlorine bitterness, which stands out throughout... I guess the psycho-part of the beer.

Pitch black with foamy dark brown head. Aroma has coffee, chocolate, hint of vanilla. Taste is very roasty with hops, chocolate, licorice. Finishes quite salty. Solid brew with strong elements

Bottle. Opaque jet black colour. Lively brown head. The darkest foam I've ever experienced. Aroma: extremely roasty, big coffee, some chocolate. Small fruity hints. Medium to full body. Huge roasted malt dominates on taste accompanied by coffee, dark chocolate, vinous and fruity notes. Rather dry. The ending is fairly bitter. Lush hopping. Well it's no doubt very good. Still, I would actually prefer a more estery one.

Chocolatey mayhem - a dark, intense stout which I thoroughly enjoyed. I will be getting more bottles of this; one to age, and one to give to my mother as a gift, as she loves stout. Treat it with respect, and drink it slow. Can’t wait to break the seal off my AB:22 after sampling this beauty.

On draught at Bob's Bar during the "BrewDog Night!" event on 08/01/2017. Brown-black color with a medium dark beige head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, chocolate and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, vanilla, roast coffee and a touch of oak. The finish is roasty with a vanilla mocha aftertaste. Solid beer overall.

LazyPyro (1396) - Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - SEP 5, 2017
330ml bottle as my 100th Scottish rating. Pours black with a dark brown head. Aroma: dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, liquorice, dark fruits. Taste: dark chocolate, coffee, rich dark fruits, liquorice, bitter roasted malts, sugar, alcohol, slight oaky hint. Medium-full bodied, fine carbonation, creamy smooth texture, quite sticky. Very nice!

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2017 Bevuta il 05/09/2017 @MelrosePlace in Romagnano Sesia (NO). Colore nero impenetrabile, bella schiuma nocciola persistente e quasi cremosa.

PREZENTACJA: czarne z brązową średnio obfitą pianą, która opada powoli do kożuszka z kołnierzem, na ściance zostawia małą koronkę;
AROMAT: palony kawowy, cukrowa pianka, kakao, trufla czekoladowa, popiół ;
ODCZUCIE: ciało wysokie, puszyste, średnio nasycone, gładkie, lekko ściągające, alkohol rozgrzewa przełyk ;
SMAK: czekolada deserowa z dużą zawartością kakao, likier czekoladowy, wyraźna krótka, wspaniale rozpływająca się po jamie ustnej czekoladowa goryczka;

Wersja NITRO. Piana więc niesamowicie gruba i pięknie się utrzymująca. Generalnie jest ok, bez większych rewelacji, dużo kakao i kokosa. Czekolada jak najbardziej wyczuwalna. Brakuje trochę ciała, trochę wodniste. Dobry i pijalny RIS.
