A 10% decadent and indulgent Imperial Russian Stout. Brewed with a copious amount of dark malts, infused with coffee beans during the boil and after fermentation and aged on cacao nibs, vanilla pods and toasted oak chips. This opulent whirl of chocolate, coffee, dark malts and hops even rivals the most colourful of imperial Faberge eggs. Originally created to celebrate the Russian Royal Family, this is a fitting tribute with which to toast your own empire.

Black liquid with really dark head. Rich chocolate, roasted malt, some alcohol, sweet caramel. Medium to full bodied with quite high sweetness and balancing bitterness at the end.

Bottle from Fountainhall Wines. Aromas of burnt toffee, dark roast coffee beans with a feint floral heather. Its as black as Hells heart with a short-lived treacle-brown thick head. Taste is off-the-scale: Strongest espresso ever(!) with a smooth malt toffee finish. Stinging, hefty alcohol vapour aftertaste. Palate is everything I dream a stout should be: Thick, luxurious texture with a gentle sparkle. Sounds like Im gushing but the reality is different. In honesty Its all a bridge too far for me. The component parts are all turned up to the max leading to the sum of sensory overload. Less is more.

Aroma of coffee, cocoa, roasted malts, sweet. Colour is totally dark, brown foam, very nice!!! Foam taste is like a hot chocolate, start is nice fully taste of cocoa, middle feels alcohol, roast malts, low bitter finnish, roasty flavour staying after drinking. Its high alcohol beer but is very easygoing. WOW

Bottle from Dranken Verheyen in Poppel Belgium. The beer is Black colored and has a large and stable coffee colored head with nice carbonation. The aroma is roasted malts, dark coffee and cacao, spices, vanilla and fresh hops. The taste is pleasantly sweet with notes of roasted malts and vanilla. Changes into pretty heavy bitterness with cacao and espresso and some fresh hops. The finish is dry and very bitter and is long noticable.

It's a quick journey from palate to psycho behaviour - a trip I've thoroughly enjoyed on numerous occasions - the majority of which I don't remember too clearly. It's just so damned moorish!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A beautifully black beer. Aroma of cocoa, dark berries, oak and a hint of smoke. Taste of sweet but slightly bitter cocoa and dark chocolate as well as weak after taste of ash and coffee. Everything that it promises. What a spectacular beer.

From memory, on tap, Brewdog Manchester 2015. Pours pitch with dark beige head. Body is super thick. Strong cocoa and roast barley taste with ashy undertones. Smooth, dry but not astringent. Strong dominating cocoa flavours can make this beer feel abit 1 dimensional at times, but its well done at what it does. This was my first RIS on draft so made quite an impression on me
