COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Also known as ’Dead Pony Club’.

Bottle and keg: Filtered

Ingredients: Spring Blend, Cara and Crystal Malts; Simcoe, Citra and HBC hops.

This Californian Pale Ale packs a huge hoppy punch. A 21st century low amplitude, high voltage hop hit. Some people say slow is good. We believe fast is better. Being shot from a Hoppy Howitzer beats the hell out of trotting round a submissive paddock. That’s why the internal combustion engine got mounted onto two wheels. Screw down the throttle and listen for that dull banshee howl floating back from those malted mufflers. Drink fast, live fast, sleep late and rip it up down empty streets. This pale ale is chopped, tuned and ready to roll. Fuel up and hold tight, this little thoroughbred kicks like a mule. Perfect for drinking by the bottle, case or even keg.

Smells hops. First taste has lots of hops, and some sweetness. Oh, the description text is talking about simcoe and citra hops, they must be the nice floral source of aroma which I have related to many other nice beers. Apparently these hops are magic powder which make nearly any beer if not great at least better. But back to this beer. Other than the crisp hoppiness there does not seem to much else going on, which is not necessarily bad thing. If it would a good non-complex beer such as this would get by mistake lower score than it deserves. From other qualities fairly slick texture, and lively carbonation combined with long finish makes this recommendable. I bet this beer would be spot on choice with food which has potatoes as primary ingredients.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2018 330 ml bottle. Appears slightly hazy dark golden, topped with plenty of sticky and lingering froth. Aromas are citrus fruit hoppy. Taste starts slow, but builds up to a moderate Hoppy piney bitter quickly. Light bodied but with plenty of carbonation.

Fantastisch! Aroma von Hopfen und tropischen Früchten. Antrunk erst süß, dann setzt eine dezente Bitterkeit ein die aber die übrigen Aromen nicht voll überlagert. Schöne Balance, sehr gutes Bier!

330 ml bottle shared with a friend. Pours slightly cloudy, with a thin foamy head, heavy lacing but no bead. Mid amber in colour. On the nose, quite perfumed, floral and even spicy. In the mouth, slightly fruity with floral notes, a champagne texture, with a strange but agreeable mix of subtle sourness and gentle bitterness. Overall, a mouth-filling, complex and unusual session IPA that proves high alcohol is just not necessary.

Bottle from Hofer. Wonderful, strong smell of fruits right after opening the bottle. Easy and light with low bitterness. Sweet and fruity with exceptionally long aftertaste. Definitely a good daily beer for me!
