Sort farge med tynt brunt skum. Kakao, alkohol, Mørk stenfrukt og espressolukt. Skarp snerpende mørk sjokolade, portvin, bittersøt. Mye som skjer her. Fin 700 feiring.

33cl bottle as Dog B. APPEARANCE: pitch black beer, nice and full stable beige head. NOSE: dark chocolate, coffee, some liquorice, light mint? TASTE: very dense dark chocolate, coffee, very dense taste in general, lots of vanilla, little over the top maybe, but still very enjoyable.

330 ml bottle at home. Pours deep black with a brown hue. Aroma of dark malts, red spicy peppers, alcohol burn. Guge sweet body, spicyness and alcohol kicking in as from the middle. Taste is dark chocolate with spicy cherries.

Opaque black - brown beer, good tan head. Palate is softish and slightly viscous, semi dry with mild carbonation. Rich dark chocolate malt and a spot of coffee. Mild brandy alcohol tone. Just a whisper of chilli, thankfully! Touch of dark fruits. Finishes smooth and dry with a mild roast malt bitter linger. Pretty drinkable for such a big beer. AB:04 was better mind.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured a black color with an average frothy brown head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted coffee, chocolate, roasted peppers and alcohol aroma. Heavy dark sweet roasted black coffee malt flavor with a heavy sweet and small alcohol bite finish of long duration. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. This is a standout beer.

11.2oz bottle... Thanks to alexsdad06 for sharing! Pitch black color. Thin bit of head, just a thin ring mostly without swishing, but it’s a very cool darker brown color. A few ropes of lace. Big coffee, vanilla in the nose. Light hint of the chili in there. Some brownie in the nose. Very good, big aroma. Big bitter dark chocolate. Bigger bitter taste. Alcohol pretty well hidden for 15%. Lighter sweet. Awesome, big chewy texture to it. Very light carbonation, but some carbonation for sure. Dry finish. Some light dark fruit notes. Hint of soy. Chili is more vegetal than spicy, but it’s a nice, sort of noticeable addition. Upping it by 3.5 seems like a good move, less would have been too subtle. Very good, impressive stuff.

Appearance: pitch black, dense, with a solid dark brown head. OK lacing. Aroma: very intense, coming straight from the bottle and fills the room. Alcohol strikes first, then comes the roastiness and hints of dark chocolate and cocoa with some coffee in the background. Can’t smell the chili. Taste: again, first comes the alcohol, however that shouldn’t bother you at all, because it combines well with everything that comes in second, everything being quite intense roastiness, dark chocolate and coffee. So pretty much it tastes as it smells, but it’s soooo good. No chilli again, however I’m a big chilihead so maybe it’s just too weak for me, even though they used Naga Jolokia, a chili that for a long time was considered the hottest one on Earth. Bitterness is quite high, coming more from the alcohol than from hops, but it’s still very nice. Mouthfeel: very soft carbonation, almost flat. Full bodied. Overall: very good Imperial Stout. Didn’t try the new, Dog B version, but this one is really good. Beer was bottled on 01.04.2012 so I have no idea if it was supposed to be more hoppy or what, it’s been almost 2 years after all. Still, I’m glad I’ve tried this one and I’m looking forward to Dog B. Enjoyed from a teku glass.

Bottle at T&M’s. THX. Pours an opaque black with a small off-white head. Sweet with aromas of roasted malts. Light aromas of chilli. Hints if caramel and honey. Full bodied with a creamy mouth feel. Soft carbonation. Sweet vanilla finish.

Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 22, 2014
Bottle at home - shared with Sune & Mette. Lots of coffee, light herbal chili, fruity, burned malts, sweetness, light vanilla, cocoa, dark chocolate, not really spicy hot. OK. Light watery notes.
