Draught at CBC 2012.
Clear red-brown coloured with a small beige head.
Sweet and roasted aroma of caramel, coffee and chocolate.
Sweet and roasted flavour of caramel, coffee and licorice.
Sweet finish. oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - JAN 26, 2015
Bottled. Deep ambery brown colour, close to black, with a mediumsized beige fluffy head. Aroma is roasted malts, mild leathery and honeyish notes as well as some berries. Flavour is coffee, chocolate, some bitter floral and fruitiness as well as some honey and mildly leathery notes. Quite a bunch of things in it, but still the result is a quite nice and balanced brew.

On tap. Pours black and opaque with a small beige head. Nose has loads of prune and a little licorice. Quite full-bodied, again pruney dried fruit with the licorice note geting even more pronounced. Hardly any bitterness. Very pleasant and Old Aleish. 170512 madmitch76 (24378) - , Essex, ENGLAND - FEB 23, 2013

Opaque dark brown beer with a tidy tan head. Palate is crisp and dry. Minerally dark malt with a strong coffee and marmite streak. Trace of sweet fruit underneath. Minerally fresh and tangy, Okay but something of a retrograde step for this beer methinks.
UPDATED: MAR 27, 2015 tap at brewdog ... dark brown ... thin lacing ... deep chocolate fruit malts ... mellow roast ... sweet roast malts ... treacle .... heavy roast and honey ....
Randelled at brewdog.. Dark copper.. Thin tan lacing... Massive bacon... Soft dark roast malts nose.... Dark sweet fruits... Soft toffee.. Long sweet bacon... Little salty.. Sweet fruits... Keg at BrewDog Camden, London. Pours dark brown with a fine, beige head. Sweet toffee, scotch candy, dark fruit and cocoa nose. Medium sweet flavor (though not as sweet as I had expected) with notes of tangy fruits, prunes, light coffee, some toffee, and faint cocoa. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with lightly sticky, toasted sugars, quite tangy fruits like raisins and prunes, some mild cocoa, faint toast and roasted malt. Very mild leafy bitterness. Interesting beer. Not bad at all.
