Bottle. Thanks to bobinlondon. Poured a deep brown, nearly black, with a thick beige head. Pure roasted malts, toffee, coffee, chocolate, with a huge piney hop bite. Absolute cracker of a beer. Nice bitter finish. Slight heat at the finish. KyotoLefty (10254) - Kyoto, JAPAN - AUG 9, 2011
Bottle at Chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig, 2011.
Great nose of cherry, chocolate, orange. Flavor is chocolate, wood, with bitter, earthy hops. Nice, raunchy and fruity, though the flavor can’t quite match the nose.

Chriso Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011 "Donkey Dork Lord Edition". Deep ruby red colour, small off-white head. Aroma is brutal hops, mild alcohol as well as some spruce as well. Flavour is hops, liquorice, some mild grassy notes as well as some slight alcoholic sweetness.
Bottle at Chris O’s pre GBBF shindig. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Blackberry, raisin and black cherry aroma. Smooth, dark fruit implosion in the flavour. Warming alcohol. Long finish. Nice. Leighton (21232) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 1, 2011
Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011. Pours a slightly cloudy brown with a foam head. Huge pine nose with notes of earth and grapefruit. Great, sweet flavor, nice roastiness, juicy hops, light cocoa. Medium bodied, oily, with average carbonation. Slightly sticky finish, rindy citrus hops, pine, good roasted malts. Delicious.

Chris pre Gbbf shindig 2011. Dark brown colour. Good aroma. Good dark ipa. In mouth its a little harsh but the finish is good. Big and intense MesandSim (7117) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 30, 2011
A Mes rate. At Chris O’s pre GBBF.cgarvieuk (24456) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 26, 2011
Deep dark brown with a thin beige film topping. Big grassy fresh hop snout that is actually really good. The flavour is a little too coffee dominated but it still works really well. A lick of toffee at the edges. Just a little too malty for it to really sing but yeah, best beer I’ve had from BrewDog in a while.
tap at brewdog ... deep black ... thin tan head ... soft sweet roast ... light hop nose ... well overy fizz... big choclate roast ... big pine hop ... soft zeztycitrus ... soft woodyness ... big roast ... long hop finish Benjii (3049) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 25, 2011
On keg at the BrewDog Bar, Edinburgh. A black beer with a lacy tan head. Fruity, hoppy nose, quite sweet with roasted malt also. Passionfruit and mango hop flavours are balanced nicely with the roasted malt, toast and bitter chocolate malt character. Nicely bitter with a floral, malty finish. Foamy mouth-feel. Very nice! dantheman278 (1361) - SCOTLAND - JUL 24, 2011
Keg at BrewDog Edinburgh. Black beer, big lacy beige head. Bitter coffee & fruit notes on the nose - mango, passionfruit, burnt toast. Almost sweet to start but deceptive - big coffee ground notes mixed with big citrus and a burnt toasty finish. Really interesting.
