COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Say hello to Ghost Deer. A defiant and irreverent, devil may care, supersonic bitch of a beer. Ghost Deer is a 28% fermented beer, the strongest ever fermented beer which is only ever served from a single handcrafted and authentic deers head.

The beer itself is a robust 28% blonde ale. After fermentation it is aged for 6 months in some amazing whisky, bourbon, rum and sherry barrels. There is only one Ghost Deer head and this beer will only ever be available on draft, served in a stemmed glass, direct from the mouth of the deer himself.

6cl bottle from Appellation Wines. Pours a light honey colour with no head. The nose has rum and raisin, maybe even dates with a suggestion of bread n butter pudding. The taste is somewhere between rum and brandy in flavour with a very big alcohol burn. The palate has very obvious alcohol as you would expect and this takes away somewhat from the general balance of it. Overall, though, glad they did it.

Not entirely sure where I bought this, probably on the BD webshop. Very boozy smell, smells like slivovitza. Similar taste, sweet. Very boozy. Hard to rate, I would not be able to drink more then a few cl.

Minuscule bottle shared thanks to kermis. Semi-hazy copper-brown with no head. Notes of dried fruit, nuts, sherry, whiskey, alcohol. Medium body, flat, boozy finish. Quite nice.

Tiny bottle thanks to Stuu666 for my 9k. Pours hazy amber with no head. Big bag of booze on the nose, sherry, rum, raisins, caramel. Faint aniseed. Taste is hot, more like a spirit than a beer. More dried fruit and sherry. Glad to have tried.

Bottle split at Reubs flat on night 1 of RBESG 15, thanks to Kenny for this juan, 20/08/15. Amber with moderate off white spotting that is eager to dissipate. Nose carries rich sherry tones, toffee, dark malt, wood, caramel, booze tunes but well tempered. Taste comprises woody tunes, boozey, a touch harsh, rich fruit cake, menthol notes, not a patch on the nose. Full body, slightly cloying but not OTT, warming alcohol in the close. Not a bad effort for the ABV to be fair, tidy nose but became a little harsh thereafter.

Sample from 6 cl. bottle, courtesy of Colin, thanks! Amber colour with no head. Sweet aroma with lots of booze, barrel - bourbon, sherry. Rich caramel malts and dark, dried fruits. Taste is sweet. Thick texture with a flat carbonation. Lasting sweet and boozy finish with barrel and dark fruits. Pleasant beer despite the alcohol content. Still to extreme for me to be really good.

Light brown with no head or carbonation. Aroma is vanilla, raisins, brown sugar, raisins, caramel, dates, booze. Full bodied, smooth on the palate with some sweetness, not as much booze as you'd think. Taste is vanilla, whiskey, wood, bourbon, brown sugar, dates, raisins, rum. Quite tasty.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2015 Bottle (2 oz.)... This beer rocks!... Pours clear and deep amber with no head. The aroma is a complex and bold blitz of port, molasses, dark honey and maple syrup. Full-bodied with only the dawn of carbonation. Bold and boozy, the flavor boasts sweet maple syrup, dark dried-fruits and tawny port. Finishes surprisingly smooth with afterthoughts of maple, dark honey, light molasses and ethanol. I thought this would suck. I was wrong. Complex, world-class beer, courtesy of biggsbowler!
