Had this sometime during RBSG in SoCal. I’m not exactly sure which Hardcore IPA we had, but I’m guessing it’s this one, because my rating wasn’t that great. Smells of butter and lactose with a bit of spruce from the hops. Peaty, malted milk, and spruce were the main taste notes. Carbonation was fizzy. The beer tended to coat the tongue and numb it, which I guess is hardcore, but wasn’t exactly pleasant. Bitterness lingered into the finish but wasn’t anything special. Meh. Not bad, but not great either.

Review from notes - one of my first double ipas and one of my favourite back then with decent amount of bitterness, good drinkability and an overall feeling of drinking something different than I used to. With time I think it was a decent, but not amazing dipa.

Wow. That was not that I was expected. Last batch, the best that I have ever tasted. Really caramelly for first, huge body with a realy huge amount of bitterness at the end.

Bottle. Amber Gold in colour. Hoppy aroma. Very, very hoppy; very piney oily resinous hops. Very fruity; bitter grapefruit and lemon citrus, citrus peel. Malty base; lots of toffee, buttery caramel, toasty malts. Very bitter resinous hoppy and dry throughout. Lingering dry hoppy finish. Better beer and much better balanced than the original Hardcore IPA. Very drinkable. Lovely hoppy DIPA! (2010-01)

Alkohol mistrzowsko ukryty. Piwo degustacyjne - nie dla wszystkich.

Drunk from 33cl bottle bought at the Malting Pot in Brussels. Strong, hoppy IPA. Does not taste as though 9.2 per cent! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Belle définition d’une impérial IPA. Couleur caramel. Limpide et belle mousse.notes maltées puis houblonnées. Belle longueur en bouches. Zero déception CQFD pour une brewdog

On tap at Hair of the Dog Bangkok. Colour is dark orange like sweet honey, the smell is of two ripe mangoes got in a fight and bruised the shit out of each other. Taste is strong dank juicy and a little sweet. I remember it being sweeter. But this was quite nice.
