This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But don’t feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. 2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

Orange white head, amber beer. Aromas of hops and citrus. Taste orange, crispy, hops, finish orange zest. Palate smooth and viscous.

Lovely fruity nose, but I did not like the taste. Too bitter, sharp and metallic. Too explicit.

I agree it is very sweet but at 9.2 % you don’t want to drink alot of these. Quite nice with a sit down meal. We had it at the Quarry bar and bistro. Love the bitters, big on the caramel smell/taste.

Bottle pours dark copper. Nose faint pine and floral hop, sweet malt. Taste some bitter up front, lots of sweet malt mid palate. More sweet malt flavors than aromatic hop flavors Bitter on finish.

Bottle. Color: hazy amber. White, big foam, lacing glass. Aroma: Very nice. Hoppy, resinous, grapefruits, pines, pine needles, malty background. Taste: Caramel mixed with huge bitterness. Perfectly balanced. Hoppy liqueur. Pines, resin, grapefruits, tropical fruits with malty, toffee, caramel sweetness. Medium body and medium carbonation. Long, warming, sweet-bitter finish. Heavy beer but good drinkable. Great.

PhilJackson80 (531) - Oklahoma, USA - OCT 5, 2013
UPDATED: APR 20, 2014 12 oz Bottle. The beer pours to a slightly cloudy dark copper color with a small off white head. The aroma is grassy, slight citrus & bread scents to it. The taste is medium body with a very strong bitter finish. Overall a good DIPA.

3.9
Lagerboy (2189) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 5, 2013
11.2 fl. oz. bottle. Hazy orange copper, foamy tan head settles quickly and mostly lasts. Stinkin’ pungent juicy citrus floral pine hop aroma seems to fill the room upon cracking this bad boy open, along with some singed boozy sweet malt. Taste is powerful and intense, fruity hops, citrus and bitter grapefruit, spicy pine, with a strong solid toffee/caramel malt backbone. Soft carbonation, medium-full bodied, aggressively hopped. If I had rated this two years ago, it would have scored much lower, proof that my palate is slowly becoming more refined... but it’s still DNFL (Definitely Not For Lagerboys)
