This Imperial India Pale Ale Rocks... Hardcore! But don’t feel obliged to take our word for it, this little bottle has a grandiloquent story to tell. 2,204 malted Maris Otter grains gave all they had to offer the world to provide the robustly delicate toffee malt canvas for the ensuing epic. 4 Hop Cones willingly sacrificed themselves in fiery cauldron that is our brew kettle to ensure your mouth is left feeling punished and puckering for more. 9,900,000,000 yeast cells frantically fermented their little hearts out as the sugars were magically turned into alcohol in the dark depths of our fermentation tanks. 2 humans and 1 canine companion are relatively happy with the results
Note this is for the new petrol blue coloured labels with white lettering, which is 9.2%. Ratings for the older bottles with with bright blue label and black lettering should go under the first edition.

My first tasted IPA and loved one. Hoppy and bitter but enough sweet to enjoy and a full body altogether covering the alcohol volume

GenkiGonzo (1092) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 20, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 22, 2014 Muddy golden colour, slight head. Aroma has fruity hops with some pine and reisin. Flavour is nicely balanced with some malty notes.

Alla spina, birra estrema: colore ambrato molto scuro con una schiuma colore beige, il sapore ovviamente è completamente preso dal luppolo, l’amaro però non è mai eccessivo e i suoi 9,2 gradi non si sentono affatto

RickFifty (1254) - Fredrikstad, NORWAY - SEP 18, 2013
Deep amber color, light golden head. Pine and liquorice nose, hint of caramel and citrus. Roasted coffee taste, sweet with a nice bitter finish. Warming feeling without the taste of alcohol.

decaturstevo (6244) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - SEP 15, 2013
Gold pour with creamy white head and lace. Resiny hops dominate a medium maltiness. Medium maltiness with a nice medium hard resiny bitter finish. Good balance with a nice warmth. Medium body with good carbonation. Pretty special

Armadill0 (361) - FINLAND - SEP 14, 2013
Bottle. Foggy brown with a quickly vanishing white head. Aroma has light pine and hop. Taste is briskly hoppy. Soapy and a bit sweet on the middle. Lingering hoppy aftertaste. Alcohol doesnt show at all which is quite an achievement by itself. A really good IPA.

A very big beer, excellent aroma followed by a big complex malt and hop taste, this was the best out of six different Brewdog beers - wish I had bought more bottles

DylansDad (642) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 9, 2013
Very American aromas and flavours. Pine, citrus, caramel, grapefruit, marmalade. Very full/sticky body with dry, slightly hot finish. Very good.

zacgillbanks (5187) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - SEP 9, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2017 Bottles from Tesco, Hexham. Bottle of Mr. President: Bright amber coloured with a thin white head. It has a sharp orange, citrus and pine flavour followed by grapefruit, vanilla and more orange on the smooth, warming finish. Excellent! Hardcore IPA: This is a cloudy dark orange-brown IPA!!! It has a sharp citrus and orange marmalade flavour and a zesty bitter but smoothly balanced finish. Superb! Bottle sampled after around 2 years: Rich orange marmalade and deep red fruit followed by currants, chocolate and malty notes with pine and leather on the creamy finish. Still Superb!

Block (2727) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - SEP 6, 2013
Yellow-orange pour. Think white head. Aroma and flavor is sweet with plenty of hops to mask the 9.2% alcohol really well. Smooth beer with a medium-heavy finish.
