single hop simcoe IPA
This Christmas, wish for a green Christmas. Where flurries of hop flakes blanket the world like you’ve never seen it before. And crunching through crisp, sparkling drifts releases billows of pineapple, citrus and papaya with every step. The reign of the snow angel is over. Long live the hop angel where parks and playgrounds become adorned with the outlines of celestial beings that fell to Earth from angry looking emerald clouds. Tune in to breakfast TV to find life’s on hold for 24 hours as this ’hop day’ demands you rocket down a hill on the back of a baking tray. Or simply raise a glass of this festive IPA as we wish you a very hoppy Christmas.

[email protected] Coppery slight hazy. Really fruity, fruit desserty. Mangos, pineapple juice, tangerines. Feels actually quite fanta- like at times, for those who know that pop. Bitter super fruity body. Not much malts, only fruity hops in flavour. A very soda like beer. Nice to try, but I dont think I could do a session with it.

Bottle. Copper amber, clear. Nose is loaded with hoppy grapefruit and pine, some tropicality/florals, caramel, malts. A bit of butterscotch and butter and.. honey? Body is slick, medium light. Good soft bitterness. I’m wondering where’s the xmas in here? Seems like a fresh hoppy ipa to me.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet Majorstuen. Glowing amber. Fruit punch, grass, pine. Very fresh, unresistable. Light body, loads of peaches and pineapple. Then a fine dry finish creeps in.

Sampled at Nærbø Ølfestival 2013 as Voodoo Doll. Almost clear golden with an off-white head. Quite strong citric aroma with pine and some caramel malt. Flavor is refreshing fruity, pine, some marmalade and rather bitter. Medium body and bitter, fruity aftertaste. Another fine IPA from Brewdog.

Countbeer (6591) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - DEC 9, 2013
Bottle: Batch 229: Served in a Chouffe glass: Medium sized creamy off white foamy head on top of an almost clear orange colored beer. Aromas of hop flowers, resin, pine, apricot, bark, citrus, light spice, malt and a creamy touch. Mostly sticky hop flowers and sticky hop pine/resin/citrus tones. Flavours of resin, pine, pine needles, hop flowers, some citrus, light dry, light spice, nice bitter, sticky herbs, some hints of orange, peach and yeast with a barky edge. Aftertaste is hop flowery with citrus and bitters, light peachy and some herbal malty bitters. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, medium to lightly fuller body and a creamy texture. Not bad but a bit one dimensional yet quite easy as well...

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique 010115. This is a big full flavoured hoppy beer. Deep orange with a big head, plenty of passionfruit and a touch of melon also. Nott a beer for the beginner.
