single hop simcoe IPA
This Christmas, wish for a green Christmas. Where flurries of hop flakes blanket the world like you’ve never seen it before. And crunching through crisp, sparkling drifts releases billows of pineapple, citrus and papaya with every step. The reign of the snow angel is over. Long live the hop angel where parks and playgrounds become adorned with the outlines of celestial beings that fell to Earth from angry looking emerald clouds. Tune in to breakfast TV to find life’s on hold for 24 hours as this ’hop day’ demands you rocket down a hill on the back of a baking tray. Or simply raise a glass of this festive IPA as we wish you a very hoppy Christmas.

330 ml bottle. 7.5%. #320. BB 11/10/13. (Alko) Helsinki, Finland.
Cloudy amber colour with a small white head. Sweet malt, some mild spices, strong piney and fruity hops, moderate bitterness and minerals in the aroma. The flavour is strong piney and fruity hops, soap, moderate bitterness, sweet malt and some spices. It’s not exactly the Christmas time but who cares... it could be Christmas all the time.

Thx! 330 ml. bottle sampled @ “Nog-een-half-jaar-tot-de-volgende-EBT”. Blond Christmas beers seem to be all the rage / the hip thing to do these days. Orange, little white head. Nose is sweetish sticky pine resin, peel, touch caramel malts. Taste is touch metallic, bitter orange, tad caramel base. Med. Body. Okay. Bottled on 01/10/2014.

330ml bottle from Brewdog online operations. This is the shit. What Brewdog do best (outside of the sometimes wonderful stouts). Pours clear gold, thin white head. Massive hop aromas- tropical fruit, grapefruit, mango, peach, pineapple, amazing. Touch of caramel/biscuit at the back there too. Damn. Good. They should make this all year round.

I liked it a lot more than I thought, it coming from this brewery that I’ve had so many bad experiences from, pleasantly surprised!

pivnizub (10813) - Bochum, Porř, GERMANY - APR 25, 2014
Bottle: Deep golden, almost not hazy; exotic fruits (mango and so on…) with piney and herbal traces; solid bitter-sweet flavour, quite full bodied; dryishh medical or cough-syrupy finish with a good dash of balancing caramel; but a lingering dry hoppy aftertaste. Classy stuff…

sebletitje (10293) - Enghien, BELGIUM - DEC 27, 2014
Bouteille 33cl, batch# 264, BB 04/06/2015.
