single hop simcoe IPA
This Christmas, wish for a green Christmas. Where flurries of hop flakes blanket the world like you’ve never seen it before. And crunching through crisp, sparkling drifts releases billows of pineapple, citrus and papaya with every step. The reign of the snow angel is over. Long live the hop angel where parks and playgrounds become adorned with the outlines of celestial beings that fell to Earth from angry looking emerald clouds. Tune in to breakfast TV to find life’s on hold for 24 hours as this ’hop day’ demands you rocket down a hill on the back of a baking tray. Or simply raise a glass of this festive IPA as we wish you a very hoppy Christmas.

(Keg at OlutExpo, 20131019) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was small and almost white. Aroma had fruitiness, herbalness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, citricness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. Yet another fruity IPA. Simcoe characteristics were completely missing.

Draught @ OlutExpo 2013

Pours clear yellow with a foamy white head. Aroma of stingy fruity hops, citrus, crisp maltiness and lemon. Taste is stingy fruity with hints of crisp maltiness and lemon. Finish is stingy and fruity with hints of crisp maltiness. Okay, but quite untypical for a single hop Simcoe IPA.

olsvammel (7225) - Örebro, SWEDEN - DEC 8, 2012
Bottle through the BD shop. Fresh fruity hoppy aroma with some reshly cut grass and "green hops" bordering on dill. The hop aroma is held back in the taste, hop resin finish with a fairly thick body and mellow bitterness. Decent IPA, it feels very much lika BrewDog beer.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. My first beer as a new daddy. Here’s to you Dex! Could’ve gone for something big, but was too tired ;-) Clear golden amber colour, white head. Aroma of lots of hops, pine, grapefruit, citrus, some resin. Flavour is light to medium-sweet, honey, pine, resin, grapefruit, citrus, hint of grapes, smooth bitter finish. Light to medium-bodied. Nice IPA, resembles the Jack Hammer IPA a lot imho.

[email protected] Coppery slight hazy. Really fruity, fruit desserty. Mangos, pineapple juice, tangerines. Feels actually quite fanta- like at times, for those who know that pop. Bitter super fruity body. Not much malts, only fruity hops in flavour. A very soda like beer. Nice to try, but I dont think I could do a session with it.

Bottle. Copper amber, clear. Nose is loaded with hoppy grapefruit and pine, some tropicality/florals, caramel, malts. A bit of butterscotch and butter and.. honey? Body is slick, medium light. Good soft bitterness. I’m wondering where’s the xmas in here? Seems like a fresh hoppy ipa to me.
