Oblivious to accountants interfering and conventional corporate wisdom we do not cut corners like other Lager producers and use malt substitutes like corn and rice to keep our costs down. Our Lager has 100% malt base providing an fresh, sharp initial sweetness and a body and flavour, which endures where others prematurely disappear into a watery bland grave. A combination of the finest German and New Zealand hops add subtle tropical fruit notes and add complexity and depth to this most statuesque of Lagers.

Keg at BD Soho, 11/04/17. Golden pour with a decent off white head. Nose is bready malts, caramel, biscuit, light hop notes, citric rinds. Taste comprises toasted grains, light floral notes, melon, straw, bready notes, toasted malts. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with some subtle hop interplay. Nothing Id revisit.

Rebrewdog version from the Brewdog Online Shop. Pours clear golden amber with a thick white head. Lager vibe is strong with this one. Cooked corn and grass. Taste is more of the same, faint lemon linger.

330ml bottle rebrewed for AGM. Crystal clear light amber gold colour with a small white head. Aroma: pale malt, faint citrus, caramel. Taste: sweet malt, caramel, subtle fruity/grassy hops, light bitter finish. Light-medium body and moderate carbonation, good mouthfeel for a lager though. Quite similar to BrewDogs more recent lagers I think, though ironically this is less hoppy.

Keg at Brewdog Soho. A clear golden orange coloured pour with a sticky white head. Aroma is semi sweet cereal leafy hop, orange rind. Flavour is composed of sweet Base malts, simple slightly nutty malts, orange rind. Maybe a hint of sulphur. Palate is a bit sweet moderate carbonation. Not such a crisp finish. Ok.

Rebrewed fir AGM weekend. Pours crystal clear rose gold, biscuity aroma. Great first mouthful; all bitterness, dryness and some fruit. It fades a bit after that but its good stuff. Dont remember it being this good first time around.

Brown 330ml bottle, best before 10-10-2009, drank on the last day of May 2009. Poured into a Corsendonk stemmed tulip shaped glass. Very slight haze to the beer, otherwise it was an old gold, mid-range lager colour. A white collar and wispy covering sat on top with some lacing as the beer was consummed. Good hop aroma, some mixed fruit in there too (apples and pears?). My nose picked up some yeast hints as well. Hops dominate the taste, is this really a lager? Not as I know it anyway. Rarely has a lager beer tested my tastebuds so. Well hopped beers often become very dry in the aftertaste, this became drier, but not overly so. Not cheek suckingly dry anyway, nor does it taste metallic or like cardboard, a trait Ive discovered in some lagers as I circumnavigate the globe looking for the perfect pint. Very drinkable, but too hoppy foe me to have as a session drink.
